TVI Express Compensation Plan Is Explained By TVI Express Leader Kelly Williams

This post was updated on January 16th, 2010 after Mr. Kelly Williams contacted me with the following request…

“I am requesting you take my TVI business review videos off of your site. For the past 6 weeks or so I have not only stopped promoting TVI but have tirelessly tried to get answers and resolutions from TVI about issues I felt critical for the long term success and viability or their company with absolutely no response from them whatsoever.

After repeated promises from support staff that a decision maker would get back with me and even several calls setup by a founding distributor in India that ended up with no one even on the call, it was apparent my determination to help is simply landing on deaf ears. This left me with very unsettled feelings to their legitimacy and commitment to those in the trenches building their company.

Further research and investigating on various regulatory agencies sites added to my uneasy feelings and I increased my efforts to get their attention, to no avail, leaving me then with the following personal opinion.

Take it for what it is worth…

What appeared from the surface when I first researched TVI and then read your review, was an “outsider” looking in and taking shots at what appeared to me to be a great program, has now come full circle. Perhaps I and others should have been less critical of your stance and more diligent in our research and demanding of TVI.

I have since come to experience something so different from the inside. What appears, by the eye catching website and sensitive tag line, “Touching Lives Globally” is simply a mirror with deceit behind it’s reflective coating. With founders and decision makers nowhere to be found and office locations with no TVI representatives there, coupled with a promoted product that very few have
actually used, the reality behind their existence screams quite loudly to me.

They were created for one reason only and it is highly unlikely they will come out and tell us what that reason really is, but we all know.

The sad tale behind it all is the fact they did it all in the name of goodwill. I believe TVI has put so many wonderful
people simply trying to survive and help their families in today’s tight and turbulent economy and help others along the way
in jeopardy of damaging or even destroying their hard earned credibility.

It is simply an evil thing they have done!

Many are calling what I have chosen to do by sharing my experiences and opinion, evil.

I guess we are all entitled to our opinions but I feel when I see a train wreck, it is my responsibility to warn the passengers.

So I ask you to please remove the videos from your site so that I might put this ugly chapter behind me. I appreciate your cooperation on this matter.

If you would like to discuss this with me further over the phone, I would be happy to do so.

To Your Success,

Kelly Williams
“Make It A Pajama Commute”

I have always felt Kelly was a man of integrity, and although we disagreed with TVi, he did an excellent job of explaining the compensation plan at the time.

This public announcement is also the sign of a true Servant Leader. One who is willing to put his team first above all else.

Here are the concerns I still have on TVI…

1. TVI Express allows Stacking.

Inside of a MLM community Stacking is not allowed by legitimate companies. There are several reasons for this, with the main reason being, the FTC uses it as a benchmark when they are looking to see where the majority of commissions are coming from. The FTC can use it, to show more income is made form filling addtional positions, than there is moving products/services to the end user.

Here is a great definition of Stacking )Multiple Positions):

Stacking: “Enrolling more than one time into the same Direct Sales company, with additional Positions occurring in one’s own Personal Downline. Stacking can result in role confusion, because a Representative with Stacked Positions can hold Positions both upline to and downline from another Representative. Stacking usually results in earning multiple commissions on the same purchase and/or sale.” – Direct Sales An Overview – Keith B. Laggos, Ph.D., M.B.A., M.A., B.A. Copyright 1998.

Now the second fact Kelly Williams talks about, which caught me attention, is the fact he talks about using the eVoucher ($250 & $5,000) to buy the additional stacked positions.

This is a huge issue. Not just from a FTC, SEC and most State Business or Opportunity Laws, but from the actual mathematical equations used to design the TVI Express Revolving Compensation Plan.

The plan was not created for manipulation (except maybe by the creators). It is build on the fact there is a specific number of positions in the Traveller Board which will be filled at $250.00, and a specific amount of Express Board positions which will be filled at $1750.

When this doesn’t happen i.e. using eVouchers instead of cold hard cash, eventually the payout at all levels will not come from the Revolving Matrix, but from the company operating budget. Or worse yet, the company founders will see what is happening and close the deal, before everyone has a chance to get their money out.

Well… This sure brings up some interesting facts.

Now we know how some of the massive money is being generated. It also brings up a couple thoughts…

If everyone is doing this, then the compensation plan will collapse very quickly. Second, if only a few people know about this manipulation strategy, then, although everyone likes to say the “TVI Expess Revolving Matrix, is everyone helping everyone,” that statement would be a bold face lie. Either way, it’s not a pretty picture.

Something else which keeps bothering me, and no one has addressed yet.

If TVI Express is headquartered out of London, why is there no traffic from England hitting the site? According to everything I have read their biggest penetration until now has been India and China, not the easiest places to validate information. But lets take a look at what the facts are just to be sure.

Ok, from this snapshot we can see the site is privately registered at Network Solutions, and is hosted at The Planet. Why? Seriously, why would a foreign corporation register their domain in the USA, host it in Texas, launch their business in the Far and Mid East, and have their Head Quarters in London?

I’m open to listen, maybe I’m missing something. And yes, since I am looking at this from a Scam Alert standpoint, I could be missing something.

However, my logically side is saying…

1. They don’t have to worry about people coming by to visit.
2. Their phone line can be answered from anywhere (Just ask one of the many MLM Wireless companies)
3. London has several international Executive Services who act just like those in the USA.
4. They do not list the owners or officers.
5. To date not one TVI Express associate or corporate officer has come forward to say who the owners or corporate leaders are.
6. They want personal banking information to join.
7. TVI Express states “a part of TVI’s revenue is donated to UNICEF” How much? as this started?
8. TVI Express states in the online presentation “some of our associates are earning $100,000.00 per week, yet they do not have an “Income Disclosure Statement” anywhere on the website – WHy? When a company promotes specific incomes, they are to show the Income Disclosure Statement.
9. Why is all the information on the website USA directed, if they first launched in China and India? Where are those websites?

Now, I do understand there are several names mentioned on the TVI Express website of folks in China, India and even Iran who are on the Advisory Board. But where are their replicated websites? We have Goggled several of the Advisory Board and can’t find outside references, please help and provide sites for us to review.

Again, I’m open, and I celebrate the success of those who are making money. My concern is there are those who will get involved and not have the same opportunity to earn this money, because the deck is stacked against them, and/or the compensation plan will collapse because it is truly built on smoke and mirrors.

Living An Epic Adventure,

Troy Dooly

p.s. Here is are a couple of questions Rod Cook always asks folk to think about when deciding if an opportunity is legit or a scam.

1. Would you buy the product or service if there were no income opportunity attached? You would pay $250.00 for…?

2. Is there a certain number of people that you have to bring in to get a set amount of money? You must personal sponsor 2 people to qualify for a payout. (Some of you will say, “Troy you are wrong, we get spillover.” you are correct… So someone else did the work for you, but either way, two people must be placed under you to qualify.

  1. Whether TVI is a scam or not, most of the leaders got greedy, decided to split and WIDE, and that put teams in absolute COMA! The sad part is the honest leaders are locked and ain't going anywhere. I believe you already know this Kelly. But honest leaders can get help right now by going to http://tr.im/O0he

  2. Guest,

I had to laugh when I read your post. Talk about calling the kettle black. You don't have the integrity to come forward using your own name. Instead you hide behind "Guest", come on, if you want your words to have weight in this community then do as Kelly has done, and be transparent.

Now, let's look at what you wrote.

    1. Kelly may very well launch a company – that I do not know. However, I do know TVI does not fit the rule of law here in the USA as a legitimate MLM Company. If Kelly can design one that does great. If not, then we'll report on that also.

    2. Do you have proof Kelly has started his own company competing with TVI?

    3. Can you provide proof of these actions?

    4. Send us copies of these emails

    5. If people join a new database then the information does belong to more than one person. However, this does open up a can of worms and could end up in court when legitimate companies are involved. However, in the case of TVI I do not believe anyone wants to give the courts access to their database. Court battles are fought over this every year and to date no definitive interpretation has been given.

People may join an online system for one reason and stay because they like the leader and will follow them where ever they go. This is the sign of good leadership. Corey Citron is facing this issue with XanGo now that he launched Yoli.

    6. If you can't find anything wrong with TVI, it is because you are not looking or not willing to read the case law on these types of programs. This is the same words used by the SEC in their defense of their lack of finding with Bernie Madoff. Just because you don't see it, doesn't change the law.

    7. Your definition of a downline has merit however, when a leader does make a move, they will use their database for the move. Orrin Woodward did this with Amway. Amway took him to arbitration and he file a lawsuit. One court states the downline is his, an arbitrator states a 180% different opinion. In this case, since you have not provided any evidence of your acquisitions I have no opinion.

    8. Your analogy on why people speak the true about a company is very naive and one of the oldest excuses for defending a questionable action I have ever heard. It's a good thing you are not on a debate team, or a defense attorney.

    9. To be taken serious in MLM you need to provide proof, not just throw opinion. TVI is not a legitimate MLM under the legal definition set by the US Courts. So until the company makes changes, becomes completely transparent and answers the questions of their own members and critics, you can expect this to continue until a legal agency shuts them down.

And when that happens, I doubt we will ever hear another word from you on this issue.

Please provide the facts and we will report.

  3. Kelly Williams? A man of integrity? That's the biggest bullshit ever! He only stopped building his TVI business because he's starting his own company in competition with TVI !!! Not only that he stabbed his own downline leaders in the back by approaching these leaders' downlines directly to move to his company! After making money in residual off his downline teams' efforts, now he attempts to steal other peoples downlines to put in his company and make money from them all over again!

Here's a statement from one of Kelly's biggest downline leaders:
Yes, we totally agree with you…..to send emails to other's downlines …people that they have helped build and work together as strong teams, some for many years…..is totally unethical.

People that signed up with TVIbuilders.com are not their members to email…..these people are members of TVI Express ONLY….that is why they wanted the information and to be kept up-to-date with the TVI Express business ONLY.

People advised their downlines to sign up at this website to be kept informed and learn all they could about their TVI Express business. Everything to do with this website should be deleted including all the names and email addresses as Kelly and his family are no longer helping or promoting TVI Express.

xxx, you have worked with and built your downline and have become very close to these people, the same as we have….and we do not appreciate when our upline decides that our downline is now their downline…..and they can abuse this trust and our faith in them to act accordingly.

We cannot find anything wrong with TVI Express, they keep paying us for the work we have done to sponsor and build the TVI Express Travel membership.

The only time, people find things wrong with a company is when they can no longer build or they have another agenda. Kelly's downline is not our downline or your downline, but should be people he has personally sponsored or people he has placed below other people that came from him.

We have received so many emails from people about this situation of receiving emails from Kelly and a lady that said the following:

"Now, to sow this poison pill and be the dream thief is as low as any networker can go. I listened to what your friend had to say. In my opinion, it was slimy. Very slimy. "

Which tells me they (the Williams) are also calling (and not just emailing) our downlines and this is truly an unethical practice in network marketing.

  4. Ironman: Interesting how your letter differs from mine below! At least she told you how much the fees would be and gave an option. I emailed support October 9th and asked if there were any fees associated with transferring money to my bank account and I NEVER got a response!

I have been a tvi member since end of September and cycled off TB November 7th. On Nov 9th, I requested the $250 to be transferred to my bank account so I could say that I really did get the $250 in my bank account directly from TVI. Others keep claiming they got paid and had cash instantly and that is absolutely not true as you would have to wait days/weeks to actually get any cash at all UNLESS you resold your vouchers, or turned your $250 or $10k into a voucher and resold that!

Well, I have been waiting for almost an entire month now for that money to be transferred to my bank account!!! Yesterday, I received this email from TVI:

    "Hello,

This is to inform you that your payout request has been cancelled as the payout transfers through bank wire are on hold and will resume in future. The funds have been put back into your eWallet. If you would like to request to have your funds transferred to your LR (Liberty Reserve) account, you can do so and turnaround time for the same is 48-72 hours.

P.S. – We are also installing option of STP (Solid Trust Pay) next week using which you would be able to request your payout to your STP account. We will keep you informed about the same through backoffice announcements or email notifications.

    The inconvenience caused is regretted.

    Thank you,

Any of you hear of this yet??? NO! I didn't think so! They haven't even made an announcement yet but they certainly SHOULD HAVE!!! AND why did it take them all this time to let me know this? They could've at least finished the transactions that were pending before deciding such a HUGE change with the company!

I know for myself, my fiance', my grandparents, uncle they would've ONLY gotten money by a bank transfer and now that option has been taken away!!!

Check out the new STP company they are talking about. Solid Trust Pay.com, wow, they must be joking if this is the company they have been telling us for the past few weeks that they would be starting a debit card!

Take a look at all the fees!

    "Monthly Maintenance : $5.00

    ATM cash withdrawal fee: $5.00

Point of Sale fee (per use) $1.50

Load funds from your STPay account to your card: $5.00

    Maximum load amount: $3500

Maximum total monthly load amount: $8000 in your Instantly Usable account area and another $8000 in the Virtual Holding account area.

Higher monthly limits are available by direct request only (submit any requests through our Support Ticket area)."

That is INSANE!!! Way too many fees attached to use the visa debit card feature that so many of us were looking forward to as it would be a much easier way to get the money, but now I see it will be VERY costly too!

I am so fed up with TVI right now I wish I had a punching bag!

I have quite a bit invested and I really wish I hadn't! All our boards are dead! No one is bringing in new people, they just keep rejoining, which gets you nowhere!

Had to vent, I have just had it! Tired of all the lying everyone is doing about getting their money and am really tired of people saying they got $500, when it is really $250! Tell the flippin truth!!!

  5. Ironman:

  6. Does anyone know if Travelocity has any comment about TVI Express and all the recent complaints?
Is Travelocity still affiliated with TVI Express?

  7. Guys,

As of last week, I considered TVI Express as scam. I will tell you why:

As of yesterday, SEC is looking into TVI precisely because people are dealing with vouchers (paper) exchange for money and they may be coming down on people in the USA. I saw far too many red flags with TVI Express. They still have their Londom address showing on their website even through they are not physically there. They never mention that YOU are the owners or their new address in India! There is no REAL product. There are alot of things TVI Express don't disclaim upfront, such as the 15% charge to get your hard cold cash deposited into your bank account (see letter below). Also if you try to book your free week vacation certificate (received upon joining). It tells you there are charges, taxes and surcharges, BUT won't say how much, and they want your CREDIT CARD information to collect their fees, but still does not tell you how much those fees would be. Crazy, eh? You know what's funny, how they accept credit cards for claiming your vacation certificate, yet they won't accept credit cards for someone to join the business, hummmm? I also never heard or anyone receive any of their so called incentives like laptop, car, etc.

As matter of fact, everyone in my board are from my upline, and everyone in my upline have stopped promoting TVI Express and has gone to other things. Yet there are few stubborn people who contiune to remain with TVI Express to cut their losses by selling the reminding vouchers!

Also, I have four spots on TVI Express with "USATVI" being cycled into express. TVI Express failed to transfer my hard earned cold cash $250 from ewallet to my bank. I have emailed their support with no response at all until I finally received an email directly from their "office" (interesting not through support service) that reads:

    ——————————————————————

    Dear Francis Diamond,

We have received a payout request of USD 250 to be sent via wire transfer from your User ID usatvi. We would like to let you know that there are 15.61% deductions on wire transfers. Kindly confirm if you want us to facilitate this transfer and it would be done within the next 72 hours.

The effective amount after deductions will be USD 210.975. Also confirm that the following account information entered by you is correct and valid.

    Account Name Francis E Diamond

Account Number (removed for security reason)

    Bank Name Wells Fargo

Bank Address (removed for security reason)

    Bank Phone (removed)

    SWIFT Code (removed)

    Country United States

** PS: Should you wish to cancel this transfer, let us know and the funds will be refunded to your ewallet.**

Noticed, no telephone, no company address on email. Regardless I did CONFIRMED and contacted support three times AFTER 72 BUSINESS HOURS that they failed to transfer. I got nothing. No response. And you want to work with company like that??

Come on, people are being DUPED into believe that they can make money AS LONG AS they convert their commission into evouchers so THEY need to sell to make money themselves! That is what TVI Express is basically running on.

My team of 21 people and I have left TVI Express while few people want to stay longer to "cut their losses" with reminders of their evouchers and they will left. I disagreed with them but thats their problem. Good luck if SEC will not talk with them!

Anyway, many of us has joined a business with 23 years old travel agency company which offer much better program than TVI Express. The company is located in Texas, USA, which accept credit cards, and have us to do W-9 and have better program that TVI Express. I even spoke with an owner on telephone several time and we are still founding members. Check our team out and you won't be disappointed. In fact I have already cycled out in a week! http://www.dreamstylevacations.com/famous/ironman

I wish best of luck to everyone here and have a happy holidays!

    Erik
    DSV "Ironman"

  8. Anne, my upline has done that., but if you are building your team then you can help someone out with the voucher, its less hassel. I cant wait until they start accepting credit cards again! Vouchers are a nightmare!

  9. The "company" claims to be “a leading multinational conglomerate headquartered in London, United Kingdom”, but you will not find it in the UK telephone book ( http://www.192.com/businesses/ ), and the company does not exist at the address stated on the web pages (office building Marble Arch Tower, 55 Bryanston Street, London). Check this by doing an “advanced search” in the UK directory for businesses at 55 Bryanston Street in London.
Additionally, you will not find this “company” if you do a search in the UK company register ( http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/ ).
So much for a “leading multinational conglomerate headquartered in London”!

Conclusion: An illegal pyramid scheme and guaranteed to collapse. STAY AWAY!!!

  10. TVIexpress is an obvious pyramid scheme.

The “company” tries to pretend that the business is about selling travels, but from their web pages, in particular the FAQ ( http://www.tviexpress.com/faq.php ), you will see that the whole thing is about recruiting members who will pay in 250 US dollars, and the members are promised that they will thereafter receive money when other members are recruited; In other words a classic pyramid scheme, and clearly illegal in most countries in the world.

  11. Guy's worthless vouchers aside, if you sit down and consider all the money that TVI say they want to pay you and look at the money the recieve as apposed to what the say they will payout, it doesnt add up, they are over paying, so there has to be breakage or some fudging going on to do what they are doing.

  12. From what I've seen, though the certificate is touted as a 5 star vacation 'package' is is really just an e-certificate that offers lodging at a 3-5 star hotel. You must redeem the cert and wait 10 to 14 days for a list of properties to choose from. There are time share companies that offer the same without the MLM hype.
If anyone has a printed copy or scanned copy of the certificate please visit http://www.npros.com/ and post a link. The more I research, the more this sounds like a Ponzi scheme.

  13. Hi Kat,

I have the same concerns. I actually sent a message to support at TVI after the site came back up and no acknowledgement that there had been a problem with the website. They have since posted an announcement on the website. The interesting thing about this outage is that I was able to access their website and even get into the back office function from a work VPN connection that was based in Europe. This was at the same time as the site was down for US users. Not sure how far the outage extended but I do know that I had several people in US attempting access and they could not get in while at the same time I was accessing the site via VPN in Europe. This is strange since the hosting of the website is in the US at the Planet in TX.

I am at this time directing another email to TVI questioning the explanation that was given on the website after the US outage.

Glad I paid by a credit card through a third party.

  14. I have only been in 3 days and have not been able to put in anyone due to no vouchers and now the site has been down for two days. The corporate phone number does not go thru and why is there not terms and agreements in the website? Also, who are the owners. The video only says a London business group. Who is that? The company apparently moved from the address that is on the presentation two months ago with no forwarding address. Did I get scammed?

  15. No theres NOT!! also do you know about there associations with QwestNet? on the website i was given, no names at all were listed…when you look at all the marketing stuff, you get the impression you will be selling QuestNet product…am I the only one that read Everything on that site? And there is NO Corporate website…if so list the site here and would love to see….

  16. lets do the math
84 positions splits the payout board
    84×250=21000 per split
    10,250 pays out in cash…5,250 in e-vouchers
the e-vouchers are paid for already,,,

  17. President & CEO Bill Hemming
    Sr. Vice President Sam Cooper
Director (Sales & Marketing) – Kevin Tyler
    Head of PR Sarah Wilson

  18. Has anyone claimed their voucher for travel and been booked?

I spoke to ASIC and the ACCC in Australia about thus, Deborah Richards has been reported several times and they are following up.

For Deborah's sake I hope this doesn't collapse as it is up to $10,000 fine and 2 years in jail for promoting a failed investment scheme.

  19. Good job Kimberly,

I agree with you. I was skeptical too. Now I'm in and loving it. I love the website and I use it for my traveling. This is a first class operation with state of the art sites.

    Good Luck,

  20. Scam Scam

No different the Airplane Games that were shut down in the 80's and 90's were they are trying to legalize by offering vouchers, There is a reason they are overseas!!!!!

Many of you may be to young to remember the Airplane Scheme, Same set as thier payout!!! Guys number one rule in MLM legitamacy is that you have to be able to sale a product and make money consistently without recruiting anyone! MLM 101…. If you got in early you may get your money back. Many TOP Networkers have already spread the word to US officials!!!!!! Programs like this bring bad names to good MLM companies. If you want a quick buck and don't care aobut your fellow man loosing his then go ahead, but someone will loose!!!!
    http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1P2-8038997.html

  21. This is an old scheme that was done in hotels and halls around the country. Many of you remember the airplane scheme. All this is a rework of the system, Anytime you cannot sell a product and make money with out recruiting anyone is consider illegal MLM scam 101!!!!

No different except lower start up cost and you move to another board for the big money. Same deal. The only reason it may last for a bit is that they are based outside US. I have heard that Officals are already on the move….

What's the difference between an illegal pyramid scam and an airplane scam?

I was perusing the internet and noticed that a lot of web information about airplane scams is incorrect. Many sites misidentify airplane scams as pyramids and a few other describe pyramids as their explanation of airplane scams.

So I'm asking to see how many people here really know the difference between the two? Be honest – I'm not looking for ego strokes or anthing. There is three basic responses

    Yes, I do.

    No, I really don't.

    What's an airplane scheme?

If you know – don't be shy to write the explanation. I'm going to wait till I get a few responses before writing one. But feel free to save me the time and effort.

    Thanks, as always.

The first I heard of the "airplane" scam was back in the 1980's. It was developed as a way to try to get around most state laws against pyramid scams by setting a limited number of players (suckers) who could be on each "airplane."

I knew one guy who made almost $50,000 and I knew about five or six who lost all their "ticket" money when the DA moved in and arrested the organizers.

    Be Very Wary

  22. There are some new TVI feeders starting popping up online. Remember it is the people, who start the feeder, will make LOTS of moola because they have funds to begin with to set up the feeders. If TVI still running, there will be more feeders out there. Be careful with those people that set up feeder to profit for themselves and of course some of them will close down after the feeder owners are happy
with windfall and gone on setting up another feeder programs. They are nothing but smooth talking clever pricing-fix gimmicks.

  23. I see people joining TVI not even knowing what it's about. They join because they heard "people are getting paid". What percentage of members will get paid $10,000 in the 2×2 matrix? What percentage?

  24. One more question.

Explain your comment on "mathematically it stacks up" If hard cold cash is not going into the system, then hard cold cash coming out the other end will not be there. PLease share what I and many who are better than I am are missing.

  25. Deborah,

Can you explain a little more. As you read through our comments and watch the videos on TVI Express we can see people are using the $250.00 voucher to buy additional positions. Are you saying this is NOT happening, or is NOT suppose to happen?

Again, thank you for sharing and filling in so many blanks for this community.

    Living An Epic Adventure,

    Troy

  26. Deborah,

You have a valid point when you bring up my statement "no one is joining for a trip, it is just to make money." You are correct I can not interview everyone who has joined. However, I can get the overall picture by reading the comment on this blog and others. I can also get to the bottom deduction by asking a few two questions.

First let's look at the comments in this community. ZWhen you read through them you can quickly see people are talking ALL about the money not about "Hey I joined just so I could go on trips with my family." I can also review travel association sites and see where companies are giving away voutures for free all over the world just to get people to show up.

Now, going back to your statement on the "statistical amonaly and logistical impossible." As I said, I agree. However, the company business model is setup specifically for EVERYONE to be a part of the matrix. This in and of itself supports my statement "People are joining for the money."

So let me ask a couple of questions, not just you Deborah, but everyone. And this goes for any company not just TVI Express.

    1. If there was no compensation plan, would you still pay $250.00 via handing over your private personal banking information, to a company with no known address, no known officers, and no known owners?

    2. Would you tell others about this travel voucher for free if you were not getting paid to do it. Knowing you would be having people provide their private banking information to unknown people on the other end of the website?

Deborah, I respect what you have written and will tweak our videos and articles to seperate the facts from opinion. Thank you for caring enough to bring this point to my attention.

However, I still stand by the facts and my opinions, all the benchmarks and case law on the books shows TVI Express to be defined as a Pyramid Scheme.

Plus, one last question… How long would the money last if the recruiting stopped? If the recruiting stops, then the vouchures would also stop, because there would be no money for the company to grow and give away free voucher.

When people put their hard earned dollars into any business, it should be for the long haul, not just for the lure of easy money.

As a side note, I do know a little about travel vouchers. I live, work, worship and play with folks who own some of the most successful travel properties in Florida. I live in the second most visited tourist destination. I see folks getting free trips worth thousands of dollars all the time without paying a dime. I guess this is part of my confusion. Why pay for a voucher, when the travel industry is giving them away like candy for free right now?

Deborah, again thank you for caring enough to write this comment.

    Living An Epic Adventure,

    Troy

  27. Deborah, you make a great point. And this is one I saw at Global Verge. My question back is this. Are you saying the hype we see on the internet is not really the truth? This company and the leadership really did not beleive they would be the next Billion dollar company?

If a company's leadership truly believes in their vision then they would have a plan of action designed for such contingencies. Sure there will be glitches, but the plan would work. In this case they have been out of their offices for months it seems, and are not moving into new ones until next month.

As someone who understands moving an internet based business between offices, it took us four hours to move our servers, phone lines and staff, and we were back up without a hitch. We were doing $150 million per year at that time. In this case TVI Express has their servers at The Planet and they still seem to have issues.

I understand giving people room to grow, but exactly where are their offices and who is running them?

I respect your opinions, please keep us posted.

    Living An Epic Adventure,

    Troy

  28. Hey Bob

This IS my only concern at this point, but given the overwhelming response to TVI in English speaking countries in the last 2 months, I am willing to cut them some slack in dealing with what can only be imagined as an avalanche of administrative and operational, not to mention technical, issues to deal with.

They have brand new offices opening the start of next month (the logistics of which I am sure would also be impacting on the effectiveness of their operations at the moment).

I redeemed my certificate for the christmas holidays, but admittedly, i deliberately requested locations where they didn't already have established locations. I wanted to test the company as well. It's one thing to get a McValue Meal, but the true measure of McD's is how they handle it when you request … no pickles!

will keep everyone updated on the FACTS of my experience with TVI.

    🙂 deb

  29. Hi Anne

I think you or your hubby may have already posted a comment on my site .. and I have responded there.

  30. Well Troy … although I applaud what would "appear" to be good intentions and someone wanting to "inform folks of the facts" …

I would suggest you stick to the facts and stop doing what half the online community do …. BS

For example, you state "no one is joining to go on a trip, it is just the money."

That is a statistical anomaly, not to mention a logistical impossibility for you to interview and get honest answers out of EVERYONE that has joined TVI. And, given that you are sprouting your OPINIONS to be FACTS, let me just clear one thing up ….

SOME ONE has joined to go on a trip … so there goes your credibility. So does that mean we should negate EVERYTHING you say …. no! you have some valid points and one would be remiss to overlook them.

But start being objective as a representative of truth, instead of forming an opinion and then presenting your opinion as FACTS …

I joined this company without even seeing the biz overview and the compensation plan on the back of a good friend's recommendation and explanation of the travel component. Our response in so many words was … "well, the travel alone is worth the $250 so it's a no brainer. we travel all the time" … as we were literally standing on the front doorstep, leaving to catch a plane to the UK. some would call that "going on a trip."

  31. Oh Kevin

lighten up on these guys … obviously not EVERYONE is making money yet … but IF they do what is required to make money, they DO Kevin (and Troy). And at the very least, they get their initial investment back.

and if they sell the e-voucher they receive when they cycle out of the Traveller Board to someone who is wanting to join TVI, then they will have doubled their money.

obviously TVI isn't the be-all and end-all of the US economic crisis, but it sure is helping a heck of a lot of people. And if they're around in 20 years, GREAT! and if they're not, GREAT!

i don't want to live life focussing on the crap of life .. it's there… sure, but there is so much more to focus on in life. instead of watching the ground making sure we don't step in crap, how about we look up and see the sunshine.

  32. Me too Kimberly!!! no doubt the membership benefits are definitely worth the amount paid.

Kimberly sweety .. you don't understand either and may have confused things even more… 🙂 Although i can see that you are doing the same as me .. and trying to clarify people's understanding …

let me clear this up for ALL of you

you DO NOT RECEIVE a $250 travel voucher … in fact, there is NO SUCH THING as a travel voucher with TVI. anywhere!!!

there is an E-VOUCHER which you receive when you cycle out of the Traveller Board that entitles you to purchase 1 membership (valued at $250).

with your membership, you receive a Travel Package (represented by a travel certificate in the back office) that sets out exactly what you get with your membership – 6 nights/7 days 3-5 star accommodation, etc etc.

You yanks (and maybe a few aussies as well … lol) have confused the terms and somehow come up with travel voucher.

  33. Troy … No they are NOT using the travel voucher to get a second position … but i can see that you are basing some of your opinions on misinformation.

Secondly, YES i DEFINITELY would get involved and pay $250 for the travel voucher because that is EXACTLY what i did.

I would buy this product without any biz opp attached to it. HANDS DOWN!!!

In fact, my hubby and I even discussed buying 52 of them and go living in Bali for a year. So buying more than 1 is totally understandable and appealing.

  34. Wow .. thanks for the compliment Danny. I am Mrs Deborah Richards and you will see that I have reported the FACTS. There is no BS or hype. I explain EXACTLY what it is and what it involves.

I understand the definition of stacking as

"Enrolling more than one time into the same Direct Sales company, with additional Positions occurring in one’s own Personal Downline"

and appreciate that being shared, but there are points about the application to TVI that are not accurate with what Mr Troy has said above. I won't say it is not stacking by this definition … but you've got to look at this mathematically and it "stacks up" … pun intended 🙂

btw … in my team, there is no confusion of roles! in fact, my team totally understand the concept that we ARE all helping each other. this is a REAL LIFE people helping people opportunity and I LOVE IT! without reservation.

  35. Hi ARWR,

All due respect to Troy, but his summary is not accurate on some key issues which stems from not understanding the compensation plan adequately enough to deduct the implications of stacking. I don't see any difference to someone joining a juice or vitamin MLM company and then being required to buy their overpriced product on a monthly basis. what's the difference? you are a repeat customer. Same with TVI, but the product represents better value and is a lot more appealing. At least, it is just a one off purchase, if that's what you choose to do.

Actually, the $5,000 IS NOT a voucher and never has been voucher. This shows me that you are making allegations and deductions from inadequate information. As is Troy above in some instances.

Depending on how much you value travel, you could conclude that it reduces the return to the member significantly. But i'll bet you there is not one distributor who thinks the $10,000 CASH isn't fantastic in and of itself!! and wouldn't be willing to give up the $5,000 group travel in order for this business to remain financially viable if it came down to it. I know I would.

When was the last time you invested $250/300 and made $10,000? in a week? in a month? even if it took a year ….? i'd invest everything i've got for those sorts of returns.

food for thought from someone who cares about the objective presentation of the FACTS!

  36. Has anyone actually requested to take the money instead of turning it into vouchers??? We did… because we wanted to see if if was legit……and we're still waiting and waiting 18 days now. We've raised tickets…no response…tried to call…no response…hmmmmm just thought you might want to know. You're in the voucher selling business!

  37. Trivalu,

We are not down on the people trying to make money at all. As a matter of fact it is the complete opposite. We are down on the people trying to make money off the backs of folks who may not understand the big picture. If money is all that was involved we would not be saying anything.

As an expert in cyber-crime I want to inform folks of the facts.

    1. You have no clue where this company is really located.
    2. You have turned over your banking info to people you do not know.
    3. You have given soemone your personal information and who do you call to get it back
    4. If your money is stolen or your identity who are you going to call?

Scammers know the little people we give them $250.00 bucks will not complain, and if they do the government will not do anything because it is a small amount.

And the people at the top will have been paid big money to keep their mouths shut.

So again, we are not down on the average person joining, just those who fully understand and are still bringing in people based on the fear of loss.

For the majority of the people who joined, if the potential to earn thousands in just days was not present, they would not have joined. All travel companies are down because travel is down.

No one is joining to go on a trip, it is just the money.

    Living An Epic Adventure,

    Troy

  38. why are you down on people trying to make money with like minded people – the scam us government – biggest ponzi game on the planet – maddoff is a minow compared to them – crooks –

  39. To Kimberly and Khadijah,

You both said "everyone in the company is making money". Are you serious or just speaking with gross optimism? Reading the above comments and having 2 decades of MLM experience and earning several million dollars, I can tell you that there are wayyyyy tooooo many issues with this company. It doesnt even begin to sound legitimate.

Everyone is making money? Really? If that is so, it is the first time in the history of our industry that has happened. First time. You should be able to sell that benefit and I suppose that is why every one is joining….just like something for nothing. Kind of like the hotel voucher.

YOU ALL know what a legitimate company looks like and is structured like. Is this really one of them? Troy said he cannot find the management bio's. After the big boys and girls make millions, TVI will be gone like all the rest, similarly structured cash cows.

I have seen thousands of these companies come and go in 25 years. How many are here today. 10? 20? Gee, maybe you are overestimating the brilliance of TVI?

Or, I could be completely wrong…yeah, probably thats it.

    Kevin

  40. Khadijah C.,

I want to make sure I fully understand what you have stated in your comment. Are you saying your traditional MLM allows stacking, and does not state in their policies and procedures, it is a violation to stack? Or are you saying "field leaders stack in complete disregard to the policies?

One last question… Have you used your voucher to prove it really are accepted by 3rd party folks?

As for your comment on CEOs. and owners, you really don't have a clue about the backbone of America and it shows in your sound bites from MLM companies propaganda. Most of corporate America is made up of small mom and pop businesses, where the CEO and owner is busting his or her butt, just to keep a float.

But I do respect your right to share your opinion and join whatever company you desire. You know better than anyone what your reputation is worth.

    Living An Epic Adventure,

    Troy

  41. It is clear that Bob has made some interesting comments re: TVI and all concerns are valid, however many of his 'facts' are not entirely true, and I am glad that 'Kim' has been able to clarify some things for him and for any readers who may be interested in TVI – personally, I would like to add that I am in TVI and also have been in traditional network marketing companies and all of the leaders 'stack' positions, in order to maximize the compensation plan… whether its legal or not I am not sure, but a part of stacking helps the team which in essence helps the leaders, and in ALL organizations you have some who do it in a way that is not beneficial forthe entire team.. but that has more to do with the team leader than the opportunity. In TVI the compensation plan is set up where as EVERYONE can win.. this is not a situation as it was with the Maddoffs situation… this is a business and in order to be compensated you have to work… you have to build a team. however its more like workiing smarter and not harder…

and there are many network marketing companies who 'sell' products that have claims that may or may not be valid.. we are talking about a vacation package.. and the ablity to make enough money to choose to use or not use the vacation package that is given to us for our initial fee of $250… Personally I plan to give those away as gifts or incentives for those who come to my webinars as door prizes.. as you noted there are many ways to have access to these types of vouchers and some are better than others, however mostly all of them are definitely worth at least $250! Plus with TVI there is a return flight offer.. which is definitely worth $250 alone.. not to mention the life time membership with TVI and the booking engine where members can actually book real travel apart from the voucher that is received upon joining.. when you sign up for other travel clubs such as YTB which cost about $499 to join. you get nothing but the ability to build a team and pay close to $50 a month for the website.. I think YTB is a great conpany, however most reps will NEVER make the money that they have on the table for the leaders. and only 5% of those joining will ever reach any serious money with the company,

I joined TVI 3 1/2 weeks and i studied the compensation plan diligently and I see how the money is there and how TVI is able to pay the reps 10k cold hard cash… the voucher system is an ingenious way to help ensure that the reps stay engaged in the prospecting of putting people into the opportunity AND IT IS AN OPTION.. you can have the cash delivered into your TVI wallet if you so choose and then transfer the money directly into your own bank account,…

I think you need to do a little bit more research before you totally through TVI under the bus.. have you ever heard of Coastal.. where they have a 1 or 2 up compensation plan, and the cost is $l,295 to join and again you get the ability to get or give away travel vouchers similar to the ones that TVI are giving out upon joining.. and it takes a lot to get to receiving 10k a month. and they have been around for the longest.. at least 10 or 15 years…

and they explain thoroughly why industries / hotels give away rooms for next to little or nothing.. it comes by the way of . its common sense, most of the hotels have many rooms that are empty, and they would rather allow people to stayin them for less or some type of incentive deal so that they ar there in the hotel, more motivated to spend money withthem in other ways, ie., gift shop, restaurant, bar etc., and possibly come back as a full paying customer because they enjoyed their stay and in some instances they are able to upgrade to a nicer suite for a few more dollars upon checking in….

There are so many ways to make money in America, and it behooves me when people like you criticize companies like TVI where everyone is making money.. and in position to make money…. when corporate america work people like cattle and treat them like cattlel in so many instances and all the big boys -owners and or CEO's are at the golf course, living in the big houses, driving the big cars, and receiving the big pay checks.. and that is perfectly legal.. its like you got to be kidding me…

if you understood the dynamics of the compensation plan, its ingenious to say the least and TVI is making a tremendous amount of money AND MANY REP'S of TVI are also making a tremendous amount of money.. and that is a fact.. and will remain a fact until people like you attempt to draw enough negative attention to get others to believe that something may not legitimate –

everyone on my team looked for any representative of the company who has a complaint.. and to date we have found NONE.. that should stand for something… right?

if anyone wants to become a part of this phenomenalteam and be in position to receive 10k over and over and over again.. feel free to contact me at http://www.meetplanb2day.com

  42. Hi Bob,

I am trying to find out the information for you. I was told a couple of weeks ago, that a member of my upline used it to go to Michigan. I want to make sure that he didn't just use the booking agent software and indeed did redeem the certificate for the 7day/6night trip. Hopefully, I will get a response soon.

I completely understand what you are saying and I want to get you the information you and many others are seeking. My personal understanding is that the resort or hotel may not even be aware of TVI. When you redeem your certificate you choose 3 locations of where you would like to go and give the dates you plan on travelling. (You need to give 30 days notice so, plan on your trip in advance, this is not for last minute bookings.)

It's kind of like Priceline where you enter the info and they come back to you with what is available for those dates and locations. So, the booking is done through the service NOT the hotels/resorts directly.

I will respond with further details as I receive them. The above info, I know is how the certificate works though. It even says it may take 10 days to get back to you with the best available options for your requested times and locations. (They are working on that system currently to speed up the process. They are still working out some system issues)

No doubt the hotel said what they did since we do not actually call them and make reservations with the certificate ourselves. That certainly doesn't mean that the certificate is NOT valid. It's just processed differently than what was thought is all.

Also, with having a year to use the certificates, it's likely that people haven't used them yet. After all, it's only been here in the US for a couple of months now. Again, I certainly understand your concerns and I will do my best to shed some light when I get more info.

    Til then………

  43. Hi Kimberly:

What absolutely amazes me is that no one yet has confirmed the reality that this 6 night hotel voucher actually can be redeemed. If I knew for a fact that I could stay at a 3-5 star hotel for 6 nights for $250, I would join immediately, even without the compensation plan. However, I have done some homework, and unless some one can "prove" me wrong, this hotel certificate is nothing but monopoly money. Here's why:

    1. It took a while, but I finally received a list of participating hotels for the certificate, supplied to my friend by Kelly Williams (why aren't these hotels clearly listed on the TVI website?). Kelly states neither he or anyone else he personally knows has tried to use it. His sponsor who is from Taiwan knows of others who have used it but they all speak Chinese.

    2. The list included 159 hotels, of which nearly 1/3 are in India, and only 8 in the USA and 2 in the UK (I thought this was a UK company…hmmm)

I actually wrote to 9 hotels to verify TVI Express acceptance and 3 said "check with TVI", 5 have not responded, and one outright denied any affiliation with them. Here is my request, and the response from the hotel in Toronto on October 4th:

    QUESTION:

I have joined a travel club membership called TVI Express (Travel
Ventures International). As part of my membership I receive a
complimentary 6 night stay at a choice of hundreds of hotels worldwide,
yours being one of them (see description below). Can you please confirm
that you honor TVI Express e-certificates (I am aware that this excludes
taxes). Are there any black-out dates? Thank you!

    RESPONSE

We are in no way affiliated with TVI Express and do not offer
complimentary gift vouchers for 6 night stays. (This was bolded)

    Kind regards,
    Claire

    Claire
    Regional Marketing Program Manager

To me, if this is a totally unusable travel award (whuch it appears to be), than I am shocked at both how naive members are for not checking this certificate validity or ruthless to know it is bogus and still promote TVI Express. By the way, I checked the website price for a hotel in NY, it was $300+ per night. What nobody wants to address is that would be an $1,800 value…who is paying for this and why would the hotel participate…what's it in for them. If it was a 50% discount voucher, I could understand. But totally free…that is ridiculous.

So in a nutshell Kimberly, if as you said "I would be willing to buy the $250 travel voucher if there wasn't anything else attached to it." you would do your homework before plunking down $250 for a useless piece of paper.

By the way, TVI Express is nothing more than an affiliate of http://www.worldchoicetravel.com Any one reading this can have a replicated website exactly like TVI Express in about 12-24 hours. These travel brands like Marriott, United, Hyatt etc have not partnered with TVI Express, in fact I am certain they don't even know they exist.

CHALLENGE: REDEEM YOUR CERTIFICATE AND BOOK A 6 NIGHT STAY WITHIN THE 12 MONTH EXPIRATION DATE..PLEASE SHARE WITH TROY THE EXACT HOTEL HOPEFULLY YOU WANT TO VISIT INDIA). IF YOU CAN DO THIS, YOU WILL BE PART OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL COMPANY ON THE PLANET (I KNOW I WILL PERSONALLY ENROLL 500 PEOPLE IN 90 DAYS IF THIS IS TRUE)

Good luck to all…credibility and honesty matter!

  44. Ok, I apologize, I was calling the certificate a voucher in my previous post. Just so others understand, when you join you get a Certificate for a 7 day/6night stay at any 3-5 star hotel in the world. That is seperate from the $250 travel voucher which you receive in addition to $250 cash when you cycle off of the Traveller board. You indeed are able to use the travel voucher to re-enter the program if you so choose to. OR you can use it to bring someone else into the plan. They would give you the $250 and you give them the voucher electronically to use to join with.

And, yes, I would be willing to buy the $250 travel voucher if there wasn't anything else attached to it.

For alot of our friends, just getting the 7day/6night trip is worth the $250 to join, so, if you look at it like that, then I still think it's a win-win situation.

    Dare to dream,

    Kimberly

  45. Hi, I have been reading these comments on TVI and when my mom approached me about this a week ago and I started doing some research, I had all the same kinds of red flags go up. Then I did further research and found not any actual complaints. Not one! Everybody within TVI is making money. Even ones that didn't get their 2 people because within 60 days of not doing anything, they got moved out of the Traveller board onto the Express board due to "spillover".

The only negatives I have come across are skeptics. No actual complaints that the company didn't do what they said they would do. Ok, look, I am still skeptical, but only about how long this will last. I figure the time to get in is when people are making money. I am unemployed, filed for bankruptcy and am losing my home too, so, if I can at least get one time off the Express board I will be ok. As far as the $250, I look at that as just paying for the vacation. Anything above and beyond that is just a bonus.

I did want to clear one tiny thing up though. I tried to enter the $250 travel voucher in lieu of paying for another position and it's impossible to do it. You have to enter the travel voucher Number, which is on the certificate, but then it also asks you to enter the verification code, which you cannot do because there isn't one on the travel vouchers.

So, as far as I can tell, trying to use the travel voucher to pay for another membership is an impossibility. You don't need a verification code when using the voucher for the travel. As soon as you enter your voucher number, it tells you it is verified.

Just wanted to at least clear that up.

Other news is now they are telling us that we can ONLY sign memberships using Liberty Reserve. No other way to do this.

Here is a copy of the announcement:

  49. Franklin,

So far I have not found one person who has come forward to say they have earned anything. All the folks who have commented on our blog keep pointing to people on conference calls, but none of them have said they are earning any big money or any other goodies.

  50. WoW …Wonderful to read you Mr Troy! You made my day!! TVI express seems so terrific when we go on site of Mrs Deb Richards, but now i know what is " stacking" by your explanations , i feel less newbie & stupid for the future when i will go for online Biz !!

  51. ARWR,

Thanks my friend for the kind words.

And, yes when cycling out of the Express Board, there is only a $10,000 cash.

This just gets more interesting as we learn more.

  52. Hi Troy:

Great summary and I especially appreciate your comments about stacking. Not only is it basically not legal in many jurisdictions, but, as you point out, it weakens the system and momentum.

Question: I didn't have time to listen through the hype/presentation. Did you ascertain that the $15,000 is, in fact, $10,000 cash and $5,000 voucher?

If so, that surely decreases the return to the member significantly.

    Keep up the great work.

    ARWR
