So what is the Secret? Why are some successful in network marketing while others are not? In the next few minutes Mark Laytin reveals the secret.
There are several parallel reasons, each of which has to be considered independently.
First of all, comes goal setting, or your ‘why’ for having a home-based business in the first place. Many people never take the time to define that, or worse: when working with their upline, they give an unrealistic goal—one that they think will sound good to the other person.
Success, your success, is about what is important to you, not to me or anyone else. It may be to earn an extra $300 to $500 a month….just enough to smooth out the bumps in the road. Or, it may be to make a truly life changing income.
The most important thing is to be honest, first with yourself, and then with the people you are working with. Every desired result, needs an action plan to get there.
Now here is something critical to remember, moist people who come into network marketing, have never been in business for themselves before. In fact they are most likely accustomed to a supervisor or boss laying out exactly what is they are expected to do. Most employed people do just enough to keep from being fired, and their employers pay them just enough to keep them from quitting.
In network marketing, your company will have a ‘track to run on’ or a business plan to attract both customers and business partners. However, and this is key, it is up to YOU to IMPLEMENT the plan. Just like a college freshman who is shocked that no one is taking attendance, or hounding him or her about homework, no one can make you do what you are supposed to do.
Once you begin to establish a team, through your recruiting efforts, and those of your team members, remember that you are the general of a strictly volunteer army. You will never be able to make somebody do what they are too lazy or disinterested to do. And you should NEVER try to drag them across the finish line, by doing it for them.
The speed of the leader is the speed of the group. So, the only thing you can do is lead by example. You cannot control the world, or the actions of others, only your reaction to that. So take control of YOUR actions, and do something EVERYDAY to advance your cause, with or without tangible results at every turn.
You cannot succeed in this industry by being a secret agent. You have to get out there and talk to people. Have conversations that are focused on who you are speaking with, and not your immediate agenda. Understand that you were given two ears and one mouth, so practice being a good listener.
It doesn’t matter what you have done or not done in your business to this point. What matters is that you get going TODAY!
You can make excuses or money, not both. Please understand, there is NO PERFECT TIME….only time.
Many people take a mental shutdown for the holidays. That is just an excuse. You are probably going to be around more people than usual, and you’ll be discussing movies, restaurants, and other products and services that people will use, because you liked them. Why not talk about your own business in a non-threatening way?
This month of December, with the holidays coming, I added to my front-line in my business, because I chose to, and because I am leading by example. What is your choice?
