The World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA) provides a wealth of information about direct selling and multilevel marketing around the world. The WFDSA represents 58 national direct selling associations. The most recent worldwide statistics comes from 2014. From 2011 to 2014, worldwide estimated retail sales increased by 6.5%.
The United States remains the largest percent of estimated retail sales at 19% which is an increase of 5.5%. Surprisingly, despite a national ban on multi-level marketing, China ranks second in retail sales at 17% which is an increase of 18.6%. Several small markets dramatically grew. For example, Venezuela, Argentina, Uruguay and Columbia all had double digit increases in retail sales. Overall Central and South America retail sales were up by 4.6%.
