I have done several series on the Beachside CEO Radio Sow over the last few years on the books that both Woodward and Marks have written. If you want to listen to these series, you can go to BeachSide CEO Radio
Listen below and hear first hand how Tim Marks has changed from a Viking to a Servant Leader. You can also listen to Orrin & Tony over at the Home Business Radio Network on a daily basis.
In the last quarter of 2011, I started digging deep into Orrin Woodward’s past business dealings with Amway, MonaVie, former distributors and past employees to find out all I could about T.E.A.M. and the new company L.I.F.E. which launched on 11/11/11. What I have found is very interesting, and may be one of the most unique and original stories I have ever come across.
In January of 2012, Woodward reached out to me, and asked if I would like an opportunity to go behind the myth of secrecy to see what T.E.A.M./L.I.F.E. was all about. I jumped at the chance to really see under the hood. From what I have learned I am the first journalist/blogger to be given this type of access.
There is no way I can cover everything in one article or even in just a few articles. But over the next few months I will do my best to separate reality from fantasy, and facts from fiction about the rise of Orrin Woodward, from a failing part-time distributor at Amway, to now leading with his long time partner Chris Brady and their Policy Counsel one of, if not the largest active team of independent business owners in network marketing.
My adventure started on a Thursday night, where I was allowed to hangout with the Round Table Leaders of Woodward’s organization. These are the leaders who have created three individual sales legs. Two of the legs have 100 active T.E.A.M. members, and one sales leg of 50 active T.E.A.M. members.
In this case active means the distributors are on auto-ship of at least $50 of one of the L.I.F.E. products, and have been, or are attending a major quarterly event.
I counted around 90 people in the Round Table meeting. Breaking that down to 45 couples, these folks accounted for 11,250 active T.E.A.M. Independent Business Owners. Now keep in mind, there are thousands of T.E.A.M. members who have not built out all three legs, so there is no way I can give a full account of how large the T.E.A.M. organization nationally. At least not in this article 🙂
My time with Orrin Woodward and T.E.A.M. is January was both fun, and very respectful. I am not sure I have ever been hosted by so many great folks. And I still have time to sneak away and blend in with the average T.E.A.M. members and listen to what they had to say from the arena floor and in the hallways. I will share more on that in an upcoming article.
Below are a few videos I shot showing some of the event. Some of the videos are from the Friday afternoon event for the next level of leaders under the Round Table. There were close to 250 in the room. The other videos are from the main events.
Now, I want you to realize, these folks have stuck together through a multi-million dollar lawsuit, where Orrin Woodward, Chris Brady, and the Policy Counsel were sued by Amway, and counter sued and lost. (That will be covered in an upcoming article.)
It doesn’t matter who you are. If you as a leader can goes through years of legal battles, go from making millions a year, to no income, to finding a person who believes in you, and is willing to help underwrite your legal fees with a loan, and all the while, have the majority of your field organization stay faithful and loyal, then you must be doing something right. Without a doubt you will not be perfect, but from just a pure leadership standpoint, you are sure leading by example.
In closing let me say I have uploaded dozens of pictures at Pinterest, showing how well the organization is run. Today T.E.A.M./L.I.F.E. has a little over 20 employees in their Michigan offices, and dozens of volunteers across America and Canada to help them with their quarterly events.

This MLM Company Review is on LIFE (Living Intentional For Excellence LLLP) the company launched by TEAM LIFE Policy Council Members Orrin & Lori Woodward, Chris & Terri Brady, Claude & Lana Hamilton, Tim & Amy Marks, Bill & Jackie Lewis, Dan & Lisa Hawkins, George & Jill Guzzardo and tens of thousands of other TEAM LIFE members.
Now as I read on one critic’s website “When entering into a business contract, it’s critical to understand what you’re getting yourself into before signing on the dotted line.”
So before launching any business, or signing any agreement, be it for a home loan, or to represent a MLM/Network Marketing company, take time to read and understand what you are signing. If need be, write down some questions, and call the home office or a solid MLM Attorney who is not affiliated with the company.
I have taken time to read through the complete LIFE Policies & Procedures and have made some comments beside those sections which are unique to LIFE and which truly bring balance and in some cases side with the independent LIFE members.
I should also point out that the law firm of Grimes & Reese helped to draft the final version of the LIFE policies and Procedures.
Grimes & Reese is one of the most respected law firms in the direct selling industry. Partner Kevin Grimes is known for his focus on compliance issues and making sure both companies and independent business owners fully understand what it takes to run a successful network marketing business well inside the current federal and state laws.
In this week’s MLM News Report, I cover Zeek Rewards, 21Ten, LIFE, Scentsy, Avant, Neways, Ambit Energy, an update on Robert Dean’s break from Limu and must more as I report from the TEAM Major in Columbas Ohio.
“You have probably all heard this story about goal setting
The story, as told by consultants, goes like this: In 1953, researchers surveyed Yale’s graduating seniors to determine how many of them had specific, written goals for their future. The answer: 3%. Twenty years later, researchers polled the surviving members of the Class of 1953 — and found that the 3% with goals had accumulated more personal financial wealth than the other 97% of the class combined!
Whether true or not the importance of goal setting in your MLM business is irrefutable…
You’ve probably heard the phrase: failing to plan is planning to fail.
This applies to every aspect in life and very much so in your network marketing business.
The secret key to network marketing and MLM goal setting is to be SMART, where:-
S = Specific
M = Measurable
A = Attainable
R = Realistic
T = Timely
When you take a far reaching goal and break it down to specific tasks, your goal setting becomes very clear and accurate about what you are going to do. When you measure your progress, you stay on track and reach your target dates within a time frame. With that you will know for your self whether your goals are realistic and attainable.
In network marketing and MLM goal setting, you must also have a long-term goal and short-term goals. Your long-term goal is what you ultimately want to achieve. Whether it is to have a six figure income or to build an organization of 10,000 people, your long-term goal is the ultimate destination where you will be.
Make sure you visualize your goals and make them as specific as possible. Many people create vision boards where they not only write them down but also create a picture board of their goals…You need to share your goals with those close to you. Put yourself out there and tell people your intentions
Your short-term goals on the other hand is ‘how’ you will achieve your long-term goal. This is where you devise a map in extreme detail and accuracy, where you break down your monthly goals into weekly goals and break down further your weekly goals into daily goals. You will need to figure out your daily marketing tasks and how many new prospects you need to generate in order to achieve your ultimate success.
Have your long-term goal to keep you motivated. Know that it is there and plan your daily marketing tasks to bring you closer to it. Focus, be consistent and persistent. Spend time on your network marketing and MLM goal setting. This will bring you a lot of clarity and aspiration to acquire your ultimate success.
Treat your MLM business as if you just invested 100K in a franchise. If you treat it like a business and set your goals while frequently monitoring your progress and making the appropriate tweaks as needed…you will be successful and realize your goals and dreams.
Best In U’s goal is to become the leading digital Company in the Direct Sales Industry and become one of the elite Billion Dollar Company’s.
What are your goals?”
“Our belief in what Life Shotz can do for you is unwavering. We spent years researching our formula to ensure that what we created would make a difference on a cellular level. Our next step was to prove it for you.” – 21Ten 2012
We enlisted the best facility to help us do that.
Brunswick Labs, a leading international analytical testing facility since 1997, performed a blind study of Life Shotz along with five other competitive products. All five competitive products are from the health and wellness category. Based on their marketing and composition, these products should have performed on these tests. The lab scientists were blinded from knowing what products they were testing. Each test was conducted on live human cells to show the potential results in our everyday lives.
In the 15 year history of Brunswick Labs, the leading clinical lab in the country, no product has ever scored this well. On three out of the five tests, none of the competitor products even scored. On the other two tests, the closest competitor scored a high of 9% of the Life Shotz score!”
You wouldn’t know it by looking at Tim and Poni Altvater now, but on a fateful summer evening in 1994, their lives were changed forever when the unthinkable happened. “As a young family, just starting out together in life, everything we knew was suddenly turned upside down for us when we were hit by a drunk driver,” Tim Altvater said. “We had devastating injuries, small children to care for, a sudden loss of all our income, and a long and draining insurance battle to deal with.” Read their story here!
Zeek Rewards are taking a proactive position in working to guarantee they have done all they can do to stay out of the gun sights of the regulators by hiring some of the TOP Guns of the Direct Selling profession. Below is a glimpse of the team working with Zeekler aka Zeek Rewards.
– Ambit Energy is working to facilitate self-employment opportunities for U.S. veterans recently home from Iraq and Afghanistan through participation in the “Self-Employment Opportunities for U.S. Veterans” campaign, sponsored by RJ Yanni & Associates, a consulting firm out of New York. Should this fundraising campaign be successful, it will provide subsidies to veterans to start their own, independent businesses with either Ambit Energy or FamilyIQ, a human services company. The campaign’s goal is to raise $75,000 in first-round financing to help veterans with the start-up costs of these businesses, from which up to 1,000 veterans per month will be able to enroll as independent registered agents of either company for the next year.
– Scentsy has introduced a new brand, Velata, featuring a patent-pending silicone dish on an electric warmer paired with Belgian chocolate to create a fondue experience. The new brand will be available in North America in May 2012. The company also announced it is extending its flagship Scentsy Wickless brand to include Layers by Scentsy, through which customers can build a signature scent, and has introduced customizable scented greeting cards that can be purchased and mailed through an online store called Sincerely Scent. Layers by Scentsy and Sincerely Scent will be available to customers in North America beginning in March 2012.
These two new announcements from Avant could be the game changer among Top tier companies competing for a very tight be lucrative pool of sales and marketing talent. Their new funding program and the car program seems to put them at the forefront of their niche.
