Steven McCarthy Founder of Global Phone Shares Insight on Kuba Farbiarz and GiConnect

Steven McCarthy, Founder of Global Phone Corporate, shares several insights on Kuba Farbiarz, founder of TriGlobe the parent company of direct marketing and MLM Telecommunication VOIP company GiConnect.

Here is a current update to the MLM Wireless Wars.

This is the first of a five part series on Kuba Farbiarz, TriGlobe and specifically GiConnect.

When Kuba Farbiarz, Founder of GiConnect and William Andreoli, Founder of Financial Destinations incorporation decided it would be best if the two companies separate because their cultures did not match as well as hope, I was disappointed. I really wanted FDIConnect to work. I have friends in both companies and know how frustrating it can be when you put so much money and energy into a product or service launch.

We had heard of some of the frustrations happening and when Kuba reached out I agreed to talk with him.

I had met Kuba early last year when he was on Tom Chenualt’s Home Base Business Radio Show, and had done some back story on his success, and was impressed at his propitiatory VOIP products the TriNet PBX Router, and the GiCell VOIP Cell Phone.

Kuba sent me the TriNet and the GiCell back around Thanksgiving and I quickly started putting the equipment through some rigorous tests. I have been so impressed with these services I have switched my home service over to the GiConnect/Global Phone VOIP service and I have been using the GiCell on a regular basis to make sure I find any bugs.

(As a disclaimer, yes I am also testing the WOW Mobile phones and services, the FDIVoice and I am waiting on the TeleVerus and the Panther Mobile phones and other products and services. We will be doing reviews on all of these services. By the way my teen girls love the WOW Phone with all of its free apps.)

Today, I called and talked with Steven McCarthy the Founder and President of Global Phone Corporation, the strategic partner and federally licensed Telecommunication carrier of TriGlobe dba GiConnect.

Let’s take a quick look at Global Phone Corporation before moving on to GiConnect.

Global Phone Corporation is a federally licensed international 214 carrier.

Global Phone was launched back in 1995 by partners Steve McCarthy and Guy Jazynka. Today Global Phone is a debt free company serving some of the most recognizable business, organizations and governments in the world, including The United Nations and The World Bank.

Global Phone Clients

Steven McCarthy called Kuba Farbiaz a long term strategic partner. He praised Kuba’s ability to launch successful direct marketing businesses worldwide and is looking forward to their continued long term relationship. Through TriGlobe, Kuba brings the customers and equipment, and Global Phone provides the VOIP telecommunication services.

For you telecommunication techies… Global Phone Corporation uses the Level 3 Communication backbone as their pipe, and use BroadSoft Telecommunication Switches.

It is this partnership between GiConnect and Global Phone which has allowed Kuba to continue to invent VOIP equipment like the

GiConnect

– TriNet
– GiCell
– Widget
– VOIP Video Phone
– USB Phone
and other products.

Does this mean GiConnect is without some issues? Nope, I have yet to find a technology company that does not have areas they can improve in. But, what I do see about GiConnect is the following…

– GiConnect has a strong international telecommunication carrier as a partner
– GiConnect is close to eight years old
– GiConnect has around 900K customers in their system
– GiConnect has close to 700K distributors internationally
– GiConnect is strong in South America, Indonesia, Australia, and Africa to just name a few places TriGlobe is alive and growing.

Be watching for the next GiConnect article we will be covering the GiCell VOIP Dual Band Cell Phone.

  1. Hi Troy,

I really enjoy reading all of your posts. You are always impartial, insightful and objective. Everyone seems to get a fair, unbiased assessment of what ever situation you investigate. You mentioned that you were going to do a 5 part series on Kuba and I would love to read the other 4 parts. Can you please tell me how to locate the rest of them on your site? Thank you again for doing such an Awesome job…. smile

  2. Wayne,

Great post. However, you leave me with more questions than answers.

    1. Since GiConnect doesn't collect the $20 per month, how do you come up with your figures?

    2. Do you know how much GiConnect earns wholesale of the lines?

    3. Most MLMs I know of, count distributors as customers, are you sure GiConnect has 700K additional distributors above and beyond their 900K customers?

    4. Are you sure the $20 monthly fee and international price, or just in the USA?

    5. Since I have ALL of the GiConnect equipment, and I use it daily, I can say it works. And in talking with 3rd party people, they have collaborated Kuba's statements, that he did invent the TriNet. This does not mean he built it, nor dies it mena he is a career telcom guy, or a techie.

    6. What does living in rented real estate have to do with the price of tea in China? Have you checked to see what he might own in Canada, or let's say Israel? Since he is not from the USA, he may not want to own anything here.

    7. Not sure where you got the millions of customers and distributors. Kuba never said millions. We did verify the manufactures of both the TriNet and the GiCell, and they are overseas in China.

Well, it is easy to see you are not a fan, of Kuba's. As a matter of fact I have met those who love him, and those who hate him. None in between.

I love the equipment and services from GiConnect, and since I have yet to seen any other wireless MLM getting it done right, I'll stick to these services for now. Although, randy Jeffers is getting closer at WOW!

Again, great post and you gave a good view from the opposite direction. Not sure why the personal jab, but hey to each their own.

  3. The only problem with Kuba Farbiarz is that most everything he says and claims is not true. Here are some statements Troy has accepted as gospel (copied out of Troy's Blog) The only problem is Kuba has no international operations as he claims, none, nada, it is all 'make believe' , does not exist in Asia, Indonesia or any of the other places….

Troy, 900,000 customers offshore at $20 per month per customer works out to $18 million per month or $216 million per yr in billing not to mention the revenue from his 700,000 offshore distributors…..making him about a half billion dollar company Internationally. (If what he says is true).

Why, pray tell, does he live in rented real estate in a not so upscale SE Florida location? His son and Judy LaMonte who works out of her apartment in Orlando were the only two employees he had in mid-2008 when I met with him as he was trying to launch his own MLM here in the USA. He immigrated from Canada to Florida after a divorce and his son moved with him. Kuba has been in several different businesses according to Florida records, but was never a career Telecom guy nor expert by any means on the technical side. The one thing he can do very well is 'talk a good game'…..dozens of people who joined his start up MLM from SW Florida in 2008 attempted to get their money back when service did not perform and other things promised never materialized…..He promised all of them refunds, NONE of them got anything including the guy from Punta Gorda he convinced to be his "master distributor".

He is a phoney and nothing more than a distributor for Steve McCarthy's Falls Church based company…..a very good little company with decent technology…..but Kuba is just one of about 60-70 distributors. They only sell wholesale. I got to know his son fairly well after meeting him and then a half dozen late night phone conversations. He is a techie and good guy and was helpful in verifying what I found out to be the real truth about many of Kuba's 'exhagerations'…..such as Kuba's delusions about facilities in Europe/Asia and other parts of the world and the millions of customers and distributors. Kuba has some interest in the Tiawan made equipment which is very problematiic ….and there is no tech support, nor sales support to help any customer struggling with trying to get it to work. Refunds or replacements will be promised but they never happen….

Troy, give your head a shake! After really getting to know Kuba and listening to him, do you believe he is the owner and CEO of a $300 to $500 million dollar telecom and technology company??

  4. Tavarra,

Did it ever cross your mind that FDI had given them permission to contact the reps and see who wanted to stay working the company? If GiConnect had done anything wrong, FDI would have had their attorneys put a stop to it.

Now as to your statement of "Kuba over promised Bill" Unless you were in the room, you are hearing this second hand. And I have heard both sides and it was not over promise it was the wrong marriage on both sides.

  5. When the two companies came together, FDI was in control of commissions and payments.

Now let's look at the GiCell. I am sure you are correct. Which is why the culture at FDI was not a good fit for GiConnect. GiConnect is a telecommunication business, and since the reps are in control of their own telco store, it does take some training to understand the each of the products.

Since we already know FDI reps are not trained on the technology I can fully understand the frustration. Sadly, none of the upline were willing to pay back the commissions to the company so the companies could issue refunds.

I am using the video phone and will be doing a review shortly on it.

GiConnect i still marketing all their services and now allowing reps to market some of their own services also.

Again, when did you sign up the reps? When it was FDIConnect or after the companies split?

  6. Tavarra,

Help us understand, you were with FDIConnect, FDI or GIConnect? Having gone through the partnership back when both companies tried to work together, I have found finger pointing in each direction. This in and of itself makes it tough for distributors to know what is going on.

However, something all distributors need to realize is this COMMISSIONS were paid upline through the FDI program, during the partnership. If by some chance you are referring to after the split, that is tricky depending on when everything took place.

Give me a little more details.

  7. #5. GI-connect was wrong for calling FDI Reps trying to get them to stay with Gi-Connect. After the divorce with FDI & Gi-Connect all of a sudden Gi-Connect s wants to send us emails stating they will have training webinars. Where were the training webinars months ago?

#6 Your dorn right God don't like ugly!

#7. Thanks for your kind words about the new FDI. Anything we do in FDI has a Crusade behind it! There will be plenty more Products to come.

#8. Kuba over promised aspects to Bill Andreoli. Kuba played the blame game on Bill & all along Kuba could not deliver what he promised. Yes I feel that Mr. Andreoli shouls have did his due dilegence with Gi-Connect but Mr. Andreoli was listening to Kuba. Kuba is that good he will tell you anything that you want to hear. I had dinner with Kuba here in California with top leaders in FDI and all Kuba did was blame FDI for not delivering what was promised to us. The truth came out & it was Kuba all along. Everytime I hear the word Magic I want to puck. Kuba used that word so many times & I wish he can disappear.

  8. #1 . I am talking about when FDI merged with Gi-Connect

#2. Many reps in FDI have had problems with their Gi-Cell not working. Not able to call anyone even if you are in a Wi-Fi area, Diamond 2 Touch Pro Cell phone……..I have spoke to several people & they stated their Diamond 2 cell has stop working completely. The phone does not even come on and two reps frm FDI stated about the Diamond 2 on the screen it looks like a water mark inside the phone. They did not submerge their phone in water. It just mysterious stop working. I have not heard any complaints about the Tri net .

#3. Gi-Cell offered the Diamond 2 Touch Pro phone which was a video phone. I am not sure if Gi-Connect are still selling them.

#4. Called customer service on serveral occasions as of Dec. 2009 and left messages & emails I received no response. I called because they billed me for $40 twice when I canceled my membership. And I also called to see where was my $50 commissions for signing reps up International. I got tired of calling. I will just charge it to he game!

  9. I was not paid from Gi-Connect. I did everything I was suppose to do in getting qualified to recieve my commissions. I signed up a few people in other Countries and also had my whole downline sign up & I did not get a dime. Also after FDI reps canceled their subscription with Gi-Connect they were still being billed for $40 a month. We had to tell our FDI reps to go into their Gi-Connect site & revise their credit card info by entering 0's and change the expiration date. That's just not right.

  10. Tavarra,

Let me ask a few questions…

    1. What evidence do you have that Kuba is a con artist? I have talked to people from one end of the world to the next, and although some have not been the best of friends with Kuba, none have called him a con. And as soneone who has a long history with con men, Kuba isn't that good. Con men do not make the mistakes that we saw happen during the FDI/GiConnect partnership.

    2. It could be said a lot of us "grew up in the streets" I am not sure that is a prerequisite for being a con man. I can understand your frustration, so please don't take this wrong. But, facts are what is needed. If money is owed and we can determine which company owes it, we will push for refunds.

    Please bring me facts.

  11. Tavarra,

Thank you for stopping by and sharing. I am a firm beleive in distributor's rights to be heard. I do have a few questions I would like to ask based on what you wrote.

    1. When you say "We" can you be a little more detailed? Are you talking about when FDI and GiConnect became FDIConnect? Or are you referring to being a rep with GiConnect only?

    2. When you state the products stopped working can you give a little more details? The giCell and the TriNet I am beta testing have worked without a hitch for over 90-days. Can you giveme your location (large city, small town) I do know that since VOIP works via broadband this can be an issue.

    3. Now when you talk about the "Diamond Cell Phone" I am not sure what you are referring. I have seen each of the GiConnect products and I do not rember a Diamond phone.

    4. I have not had any issues calling the office, can you give a little more details as to the reason for the call? This will help me investigate.

    5. I do know that GiConnect have worked to keep customers and distributors from the FDI days. Since the private agreement between FDI and GiConnect is private, and there has not been any lawsuit filed by either party, that this must be an agreed action.

    6. I 100% agree God does not ugly.

    7. I like Bill and the whole crew at FDI. And I have full faith in their new system. I am beta testing it also, and I think it has a great crusade attached to it.

    8. I do blame both Bill and Kuba. I believe they are both leaders who must stand equally responsible for what happened. Both companies run completely different cultures and they should have brought in outside consultants for advice on if these two cultures could be brought under one umbrella. Great Servant Leaders take responsibility for the losses and give 100% credit to their teams for the wins.

Again, Tavarra, thank you for sharing and please provide me with more details.

  12. Mr. Dooly Kuba talks a good game………………Don't be fooled with his hustle mentality. We all got bambozzled from Kuba. No one was paid on the Gi-Connect Commissions. The products have stopped working. I have talk to several people that bought the products as such as the Diamond Cell Phone & it mystery stop working. If u call the Gi-Connect office & leave a message they do not return phone calls.
Where are Kuba morals. He continues to keep emailing FDI reps and having people calling FDI reps to get them to stay in Gi-Connect. The truth will come out in the light. God does not like ugly & Kuba whole world will crumble right in front of him in due time.

CEO Bill Andreoli wanted the best for FDI & Bill is one of the best CEO's out there! This was a learning experience for all of us. I don't blame Bill Andreoli at all. Kuba is that good that's all he knows how to con people. Thanks Kuba for the vision for moving onto something bigger & better! God Bless, Tavarra Jones

  13. Kuba is a con artist. This guy grew up in the streets. Don't let him con anyone else. Kuba needs to be stopped! I am glad FDI is no longer associated with Gi-Connect. Everything happens for a reason. All the problems we had with FDI was a Blessing in disguise because it made all of us move onto bigger & better things with FDI Voice.

  14. @giconnects,

First thank you for the kind words. I agree Kuba is a one of a kind visionary. The technology is unbelievable. I knew if I was going to keep covering the MLM Wireless aka Telecommunication companies I would need to learn as much as I could as fast as possible.

I have found some great stuff about several companies and the technology they market. But to date I have not found anyone with the proprietary VOIP equipment GiConnect offers.

I can say, GiConnect is not for the typical network marketer. This will take a little more knowledge of the products and technology… Which is why in an upcoming post I'll introduce the world to our friend Jamie 🙂

  15. Troy,
My hat off to you!! Or should I say my bonnet. In all seriousness, you are doing what Kuba deserves: truth and honesty; clearing up the confusion that has prevailed itself with GiConnect and FDI. And, yes that the products do work and the service is real.
Just a little background regarding myself, I have been online since the Internet started- over 14 plus hours 6 days a week except to be in church. I do not believe there are any accidents and over a year and a half by now a business associate of mine met Kuba. Instantly he and I saw Kuba's vision and we locked arms and became GiConnect associates.

Well, to make a short story out of a long one: I learned the ins and outs of the networking and also the Trinet and the GiCell phone plus more. I am very proud of the fact that I have become a student of the technology (that no one else has). Plus, here is something else: one of my associates and I arranged the radio show with Tom Chenault. What a history and year we have had, especially with the FDI merge. With one more point, myself and one of my friends brought Kuba and FDI together. But, you know what, every thing has a purpose and a reason. It is sad to me that Kuba has not until now gotten the support from the United States networkers. But, Troy you are right; even though the products are not complicated it is a matter of perception from the networkers. Sometimes, our networkers in the US are more recruiting driven versus having a real business and a real product that may entail more training then they are accustomed to.

So, I just want to thank you Troy for the series that you are doing on Kuba. And, I have met Steve McCarthy several times and he is totally business and good at what he does.
