Seth Godin Shares Explains What Dallin Larsen Founder Of MonaVie and Paul Burks Founder Of Zeek Rewards Have In Common

A week or so ago, Randy Schroeder, President of MonaVie North America came out hard against Paul Burks, founder fo Rex Venture Group, the parent company of Zeek Rewards. After listening to Randy’s opinions (by the way Randy and I will be talking live next week), I have taken some time to really give some thought to Randy’s words, and started looking for what Dallin Larsen and Paul Burks have in common and their underlying passions for starting MonaVie and Zeek Rewards.

I asked myself one simple question… Could these two massively successful leaders share something in common? Well I found it, as I watched Seth Godin’s TED Talk about Tribes and starting movements. One person willing to think outside the box, can start a movement.

Dallin Larsen made a stand several years ago on the side of the distributor making it clear Distributors should be free agents and be able to come and go in companies as they please.

Paul BUrks made a stand several years ago on the side of the distributor, stating ALL distributors should have the same opportunity to earn income, and change their lives, even if they were not the best recruiters or sales pros.

Maybe instead of taking potshots at each other, we should collaborate together, learn more about each other and our goals as leaders, before we just starting firing. If we do we may just find we are closer in our overall objectives, than we realize and are fighting for the same common cause… Truth and Justice for all!

Can't wait to hear Randy's explanation! Go Zeek!!

  • Zeek Inside Doubter

    Hi Troy:

    Thanks for your input.

My concern has to do with, among other things the compensation model that Zeek has. Though they have a relationship with a noted MLM attorney Kevin Grimes

they haven't publically stated that he has reviewed and/or signed off on their system, nor has he stated the same.

All we know for certain is that he's responsible for their compliance course.

One of my worries, previously expressed to you in detail in a lenghty email is the legality of their compensation plan.

Seeing as how the Mona Vie chief has semi-publically called into question the legality of Zeek's plan I wonder if you could get someone authoritative in this field, and not someone who has something to gain either way, to comment on my concern.

    Thankyou,

    ZID

    • Troy Dooly

      @Zeek Inside Doubter,

Great points. Kevin did create and sign off on the Income Disclosure Statement, and that has been stated publicly several times. And Kevin Grimes was at the first RCD and I did talk with him about everything.

As you mentioned he did create the compliance course, but he also customized the compliance course to fully educate the field force on what they should do to market the network marketing business correctly, which would include fully reviewing the compensation plan, and revealing to Zeek any changes that must be made. Which if you review the old compensation plan you will see this did happen.

The compensation plan prior to all the consultants coming on board, was different. And for the IDS to be fully complaint then the compensation plan would also need to be compliant based on Grimes opinion. Otherwise, it would seem they would have gotten Nerah and Waak to have prepared the IDS.

And as the months roll forward, we will also see additional tweaks, qualifiers and changes to the compensation plan to always keep it in compliance. And it is a pretty good bet, each change will be aimed at acquiring sales above and beyond what is needed to qualify for the compensation plan. In other words, true sales to real customers who are not looking at any of the Zeek income streams.

I respect Randy, and he has a right to his opinion. If you do a search on MonaVie and you see what the critics write about MonaVie they raise the same issue… How much revenue is truly coming form outside sales… Those purchases made by folks not receiving commissions? We know they have sales we just do not know how much.

Unlike Zeek, where their is a viable way of seeing a steady flow of outside sales through the paid auctions, and retail purchases of products, we do not see any at MonaVie, or most network marketing companies.

I have reported on this issue for the last couple of years. In May one of the world's leading Short Sellers also brought light on it, with Herbalife, and their stock fell drastically.

No one inside of Zeek, the consultants or I, have run from this concern. Each tweak has been made to make sure that bid sales, product sales produce revenue outside of the compensation plan.

Here are two items which I will report on this next week which shows the dedication of RVG executives to make this happen. On August 22, 2012, the new ZeeBates site will go live. All revenue produced from that site will only count in the RPP. These will be real customers buying products from 3rd party stores, and the revenue share Zeek receives will be used in the RPP calculations. From what we have read at Zeek News, to qualify for the RPP each ZR affiliate will need between 2 and 8 active customers per month buying s specific dollar amount of 3rd party products.

Second item of news I will report on is the purchase by RVG of another network marketing company which has 50% of its sales currently coming from customers who are not part of the compensation structure.

This is where I and most of the critics part company. I do not try and cover up and red flags, I go looking for solutions to the red flags to protect the distributors. Kevin Grimes, Greg Caldwell, other consultants and the executive staff all do the same.

Sadly many of the critics, just keep focusing on the past, or what they can't validate. Most will not read this, so I will be reporting in details first of the week on the items I mention here.

One last thing. did you notice that Randy did not specifically state what was wrong with the Zeek Rewards business model! :) There might be a good reason for that. I will be asking him next week when we talk live.

      Living An Epic Adventure,
      Troy

      • Dan.M.

Troy, i suspect your days of having to satisfy those critics will soon be over once these changes come into effect. i do hope that is sooner rather than later, for all concerned.

        • Troy Dooly

          @Dan,

There will always be critics, but I hope they realize they played a part in keeping the focus on the issues, and that their issues and my issues are not far apart. I just happen to take an active inside active role in working to make the changes, and not just talk about them.

What I don't sometimes get is why, when changes are happening they do not recognize the company for making positive changes. Heck, they could take credit for pushing the changes. As long as change is happening to protect the affiliates, and for the company to be fully compliant I do not care who takes credit.

          • Chris Bailey

            Hello Troy,

I've been following this intriguing Zeek saga here and at the anti-scam sites for a couple months now.

As someone who has also been labeled a "critic", "negative", "dream stealer", etc., etc. a time or two when speaking out against what I viewed were blatant ponzis/pyramids, I think your sincere readers(and possibly you) need to understand just where the critics are coming from and why they don't necessarily recognize a company for making changes.

Hardcore critics analyze and speak out against what they view as scams on a daily basis.

They've seen virtually every type of spin a company or it's supporters can put out there as to why it's not a scam or illegal.

If you and your readers look at what companies actually create the most buzz on anti-scam sites(at least the ones I frequent), you'll see that in time, the hardcore critics are rarely proven wrong.

Why should a critic give credit to a company that launched under what they viewed as an illegal and unsustainable business model when they have no idea what the motives are for the changes?

Did they make the changes because they all of a sudden had an epiphany and realized that the model they often times claim they had worked on for years to perfect was unsustainable and/or illegal?

Are they doing it hoping to cover their own backsides and not run into legal trouble now that they've pocketed millions off of the original model?

Perhaps being a bit jaded from constantly dealing with the scummiest creatures in cyberspace, critics have no reason to believe that a company or it's owners make changes to their programs for anything less than self-serving reasons.

If an alleged ponzi makes changes that all of a sudden make it not a ponzi anymore, that will not eliminate the damage that is already done or will be done from the original model.

My most extensive experience speaking out against a ponzi/doubler call YMMSS and later Success Through Advertising.

It ran smooth as silk for about 3-4 years doubling members positions every 60-90 days until the weight of it finally caused it to stall.

Then they switched to a "legit" business model.

            Why?

Well, other than shutting down because they couldn't keep up with the liabilities created by the ponzi model, that was their only option.

            But the damage was done.

People most frequently targeted by these easy money games are the sick, elderly, and naive.

I was personally in contact with numerous people that were swayed into investing money they could not afford to lose by people they loved and trusted based on their testimonials.

            Some lost their homes.

One elderly retired couple had to go back to work when they lost most of their retirement money because they foolishly let their daughter who was an early success story convince them of how wonderful and sincere the ponzi owner was.

Naive and foolish on their part. Absolutely. Some less compassionate people can even correctly label them as downright stupid.

Their other daughter had read what others and I wrote and tried to warn them off of it, but they chose to believe the easy money that was in the first daughter's bank account.

So now you not only have an elderly couple that will likely never be able to retire comfortably or do some of the things they wanted to do in their golden years, you have a family ripped apart because of the damage that was done.

While not necessarily relevant to what the final outcome of the Zeek saga will be, hopefully it gives or reminds you and your sincere readers some of the rationale and motives that at least some of the critics have for doing what they do and why some can be so dogged and ruthless in their pursuits.

Now I did not pay attention to Zeek early enough to see how it was promoted out of the gate, but I do see how it's being promoted now. And it's still all about easy money.

The fact that it caught on at places like MMG is a huge red flag.

Troy, you've been around long enough to recognize the wretched amount of hype and misleading crap in the money making opportunity world.

Take a moment to reread this http://zeekrewardsnews.com/2012/06/15-years-and-c… and try it with the eye of a critic for a moment.

Do you in your heart of hearts really believe that Paul Burks has created a system where 97% of the people will succeed and be in a positive cash flow? Is it even economically possible for this to be realized?

Do you really believe that "people who do not have sales and recruiting skills" can or will ever make significant income in business, any business?

            My apologies for the novella.

Just something I had to put out there. :)

          • Troy Dooly

            @Chris,

Fantastic comment! We are on the same page 100%. Sadly even in Zeek there are those who promote the business 100% out of compliance with every every law I know of. Which is why monthly I am willing to stand and talk about compliance, and this month even tell the 800 plus Zeek affiliates that from that day forward when I find or an made aware of affiliates promoting Zeek illegally or out of compliance will become part of the new Zeek Wall of Shame here at MLMHelpDesk.com.

I couple of the very passionate anti-ponzi advocates have reached out and in about the same words shared what you have. It causes me great heartache to think of the millions over the years who have fallen into the hype and crap ponzi promoters lies.

Most folks only hear ot the Standford's or the Madoff's, but as you know even better than I, the crap rolls daily.

Thank you for taking time to share and give a solid perspective for all in our community who are seeking answers… real answers.

Way to many times it is the messengers that take the heat.

            Living An Epic Adventure,
            Troy

          • Chris Bailey

            LOL.

I'm certainly not foolish enough to step on the toes of the ladies in your life by demanding your time here. ;)

Congrats on your anniversary and Happy Birthday to your daughter.

            Enjoy!!

          • Chris Bailey

Thanks for the kind words Troy.

I would be interested in your response to the two questions at the end of my post.

Paul Burks’ statement about creating a system where almost everyone who joins will be successful is in direct contradiction to what they perhaps are forced to state on the IDS.

“Success with ZeekRewards results only from successful sales efforts, which require hard work, diligence, leadership. Your success will depend on how effectively you exercise these qualities.”

Do you truly believe Paul Burks has created the equivalent of the holy grail of home businesses where you can succeed with absolutely no recruiting or sales ability?

Sorry if you’ve answered these questions before, but I don’t recall seeing them in the myriad of posts and replies.

          • Troy Dooly

            @Chris,

Sorry for not answering the questions… yet! I am celebrating my oldest daughter's 18th birthday this weekend, as well my 25th to my lovely bride.

So with your permission I would like to wait until the first of the week when I get back in the office to respond.

            Living An Epic Adventure,
            Troy

          • Troy Dooly

            @Chris,

Thank you for allowing me time to celebrate with the family over the weekend.

Now down to the questions :)

            1. Desiring to create a system, any system that helps the average person looking to become a successful entrepreneur is something I can support. In the case of Paul Burks, he and his team have focused for years to create what they call the EMM "Exact Marketing Method". Which is the driving force behind what each ZR affiliate is suppose to do on a daily basis to build the Zeekler Penny Auction House.

I said that so folks reading can better understand a little of the back story and what drives Paul Burks motivation. The question as you have asked above is does it really work for the average affiliate. Based on the IDS, if I look at other IDS's from across network marketing, comparing apples and oranges, I would say that the EMM is working well based on the following.

            a. 70% of the active affiliates are getting paid something.
            b. 23% of all affiliates are getting paid something.

But… again, I am comparing across industries. The real answer will come after two or more companies inside the penny auction niche, produce IDS's for us to review. I have talked with Frode over at BidiFy and they will be creating an IDS in the near future and that will start to give us a better picture. However, until two or more companies have 12 months under their belt, I am providing a subjective answer.

            2. I do believe, that at the foundation of Zeek Rewards is the same thing that is at the foundation of every direct marketing and/or direct sales company… WORK! Now we could all debate that it is hard work or working smarter that drives the success of some people. But no matter what, to succeed in anything in life, people have to work.

The marketing message behind the EMM is solid and Darrel has done a great job over the years to tweak the message and get the masses working. But at the same time I feel the EMM message has also attracted some folks who now feel they are "entitled" to their commissions whether they "work" or not! Which I also find sad, because it does prove like so many folks in so many businesses, they never read the policies and procedures they signed.

Examples from the current P&P as of July 30, 2012:

            14. Business Volume Requirements
Refer to the Compensation Plan for business volume requirements to remain “active.” and “qualified” Failure to keep your Representative position active and qualified on a monthly basis results in the loss of existing downline volume and volume will not accumulate to earn commissions. Inactivity of more than 60 days may result in the termination of your Representative position.

(Some affiliates do not realize they have had volume 'sales" requirements from day one just like all network marketing companies)

            37. Training Requirement
A Sponsor must maintain an ongoing professional leadership association with Representatives in his or her organization and must fulfill the obligation of performing a bona fide supervisory role in the sale or delivery of products and services.

(Some affiliates have not tried to work with their downline or focused on their leadership responsibilities)

            38. Cross Selling/Cross Sponsoring
REX Representatives shall not sell or represent non-REX products or represent marketing opportunities from other companies to other REX Representatives. Non-REX products or opportunities may not be promoted in any way at official REX events, meetings, conventions or other gatherings.

(Many of the ZR affiliates have been found to be cross sponsoring folks into several penny auction marketing companies at one time… hedging their bids, if you will.)

            41. Sale of Product
REX Product may be purchased and sold only within the U.S.A and other approved countries. The Company will provide participant access to monthly commission statements, commission checks, and annual 1099 tax forms to participants who are U.S.A. residents. The Company will make available to participant, sales aids, product information, and other information.

(Some affiliates, do not realize they are selling a product, which is because they have not read the P&Ps and are out of compliance.)

            43. Training
The participant will receive training by reading the online materials found on the REX website, in REX Back Office, product information, and other Company materials. Training will also be provided by the sponsor, and Company training seminars.

(Some affiliates are not providing training for the affiliate, only relying on what the company promotes. I feel this is because the upline leaders in many cases, have not been properly trained and did not join the company under the right motivation.)

            46. Print and Electronic Advertising
All materials used in the placement of any advertising in any print or electronic media, including Internet web sites must be approved by REX prior to use. Representatives are not permitted to use the REX trade names or names deceptively similar to them as a web site address or in any other manner without the written approval of REX.

Telephone, Yellow and White Page Listing: Representatives are not permitted to use REX trade name in advertising their telephone and FAX numbers in the white or yellow page sections of the telephone book except as outlined below. Representatives are not permitted to list their telephone numbers under REX trade name without first submitting a request to REX for approval. If approval is granted for an 800 listing, it must be stated in the following manner: “Jones, John D. Independent Representative”.

(Some affiliates, are using unapproved, out of compliance marketing, because again, they have never done any training or read the P&Ps. They can be terminated with cause at any time.)

            51. Recordings
Representatives may not produce or reproduce for sale or personal use products sold by REX or any of REX-produced literature, audio or video material, presentations, events or speeches, including conference calls. Video and/or audio taping of REX meetings and conferences is strictly prohibited, without Company permission. Still photography is allowable at the discretion of the meeting host.

            (Need I say anything :) )

            57. Income Claims
Representatives must truthfully and fairly describe the Compensation Plan. No false or misleading income claims may be made to prospective Representatives. Representatives may not use their own incomes as indications of the success assured to others. Commission checks may not be used as marketing materials. Representatives may not guarantee commissions or estimate expenses to prospects. The power of the REX Compensation Plan may be accurately shown using REX approved materials. Each Representative understands that his or her success is dependent on their effort, dedication, resources and the time he or she commits to this enterprise.

(Need I say anything? If ZR affiliates would just read the P&Ps and watch the company compliance videos, they might protect their own incomes.)

            59. Advertising Guidelines
All advertising must be approved prior to use. Failure to receive approval for advertising may result in suspension or termination of Representative position.
            What you may use:
            1) REX corporate name and logo only when you identify yourself as a REX Independent Representative.
            2) Logos, copy, etc. provided.
            What you may not use:
            1) Any copyrighted image or document without prior approval.
            2) Quotes from any corporate official or other Representative without approval.
            3) Third party testimonials.

(I am starting a ZR Wall of Shame, each time I catch someone out of compliance.)

So, based on the above I would say the EMM is a great marketing message, but it has not changed the habits of the majority of the ZR affiliates. They still expect to make money with little effort. This has been what most companies have been fighting for years.

            3. I believe Paul Burks and his team have created a marketing system which " which require hard work, diligence, leadership. And success will depend on how effectively the ZR affiliates exercise these qualities."

I do believe the overall numbers of active affiliates and active affiliates being paid some form of monthly income is higher than the direct ales average, or even the average payout in the internet affiliate programs.

But at the end of the day, the company can provide the best marketing system ever created, but if the mindset of the affiliate is not correct, then they will fail. Most affiliates are not entrepreneurs, and have been programed to work for someone else, get a paycheck, and pray for long term security. Most have not been taught the basic business skills, leadership principles needed to facilitate the growth of a volunteer army of part-time ZR affiliates. Instead they are relying 100% on the company.

Thank goodness there are some great leaders in the field who are taking the bull by the horns and are leading their teams, by creating some solid personal development, sales skills and team.

I know long answer, to a short question, but it deserves my full attention.

Also, it should be noted, that there is NOT a 95% to 97% failure rate from the field perspective in direct sales. I would concede that like all industries, based on the Small Business Administration, that most businesses (95% to 97%) do fail within any industry.

However, from a field perspective the rate is not 95% to 97% and I will write an editorial in the next week or so to show the most current data in the USA and worldwide.

            Hey Troy.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Was there a yes or no answer to those questions mixed in with your reply?

From reading other comments on your site, I know you state the 97% failure rate is incorrect.

The actual failure rate is irrelevant because Paul Burks is stating that 97% will succeed with absolutely no sales or recruiting ability. Do you think that is a realistic statement coming from the owner?

          • Troy Dooly

            @Chris,

Sorry :) I must have been out behind the woodshed.

I personal would not as an owner of a Network Marketing Company make that statement.

But, since Paul Burks has made it clear Zeek Rewards is build on the EMM (Exact Marketing Method) Theory, and I am not the expert on that marketing model, then I can't say that his statement is not realistic.

And if we base it on affiliate marketing, and not network marketing, then there is documentation of folks earning seven figures a year, who NEVER sell or recruit.

But inside the network marketing aka direct sales for anyone to succeed and/or maximize the compensation plan, they will need to sell and/or recruit.

      • Holl

Troy, Thank you for your dedicated work to the MLM business. I have one concern, I have been a Zeek member for a while now with a strong down line. Everyone I know involved is excited and taking compliance courses, we are doing the right thing to build this. If you say each affiliate will need 2-8 customers to pay for a 3rd party product. Does that mean every one of my down line members has to meet the 2-8 customer criteria to get the rpp pay outs? I am trying to ensure that all of the work I have done to build my business will not be lost unless I get all of my downline on board with qualifiers?

        thanks
        HT

        • Troy Dooly

          Holl,

Thank you for the kind words. From my understanding then qualifications will take effect at 10001 points. All affiliates with less than 10001 points will stay the same as it is now.

But, don’t count your hard work lost, until you view the power of the new ZeeBates and the new network marketing company Paul bought.

      • Warren

        Hi Troy,

First off I must say I like your work and appreciate what you do for industry we work and live in. Thank you.

Were you able to carry out your live talk with Randy Schroeder last week and will we get to hear about this if you did.

        Thank you.

I am so excited to hear all this wonderful new News. :) RVG just continues to prove that they are the stand up company we all are proud to be a part of.

I am glad to see that there are going to be these positive changes coming soon and it would seem this will also enhance our business to a new level.

I am anxious, excited and proud to continue building my Zeek business and increasing my customer base. It looks as though this may get a little easier when they include the Zeebates portion – (not everyone is interested in penny auctions) but everyone shops!

This just gets better and better – Patience is a virtue and I think it was worth the wait in Zeek.

    Thanks Troy for EVERYTHING.

    Thank you Troy,

I really appreciate you as someone who is honestly looking out for this great industry and not one of those who continually attacks ZeekRewards under the guise of they are concerned about the distributors, or about the compensation plan, or the business model, which ZeekRewards is, the Trail Blazer of, as I heard on a webinar on Wednesday from a group of distributors from another company. It saddens me to no end that folks do not realize that for over 14 years Paul has worked to fix a Business Model or industry, which is broken, because 95% of the distributors lose money or cannot make any real money because of the current compensation plans and qualifiers, which I do not believe were designed to make money off the back of the masses but because the masses cannot make money with them, in essence this is quite honestly what they do and is what has happened for decades.

For years, if not decades, we have talked about this high failure rate in this industry as many of the leaders from various company's will tell you, that most of their distributors have been with them for years as they would search for or move to a company hoping that the majority of their team members could earn an income. In private conversations with them over the past 20 years you would hear one common thread within these conversations from these leaders and that was "I want to be with a company that "I can make money with my team members instead of making money off of them". I would hear them talk about how sickening it was to know they could make money or earn an income no matter which company or compensation plan they were with but what saddened and hurt them was they knew that over 95% of their team members never made even $1,000 per year and that is even after being with a company for over three years. These team members are the hard working people who work a job during the day and rush home at night to attend a business meeting or webinar to be trained on how to be successful or for support because many of their co-workers, have ostracized them at work if they have shared a business opportunity with with them and sit back and wait for them to fail They then come home to a spouse, mate or family members who attack them because they are in another one of those things, when all they are trying to do is make life better for themselves and their loved one's, the same ones who are attacking them, instead of supporting them. Anyone who has been in a relationship knows that you are not moving forward with any project if you do not have the support of your mate or significant other.

We all know that $300.00 to $500.00 a month can make a difference in most family's lives, as some surveys have stated, that this small amount of additional monthly income could have saved over 60% of the homes which were foreclosed on in the USA yet history has proven this does not happen in this industry for the majority of those who enter it.

It would be much more productive if the naysayers or doubters would ask Paul what is 'Exact Method Marketing' which is a business model which Paul discovered by studying the wildly successful fast food industry. Ask Paul about his passion to bring a business model to this industry in which the little guy or a single mother working two jobs finally has an opportunity to provide a better life for her children. Sometime when others achieve success they forget about these people, the true masses. I am reminded about a statement I heard Armand Morin make, who is a wildly successful internet marketer earning over $50,000 daily, when he was sharing about the percentage of orders one of his email campaigns generates which went something like this "he said he could get 3% to 5% return easily, from his email campaigns but what interested him more was how to help the 95% to 97% who were not ordering his products and that is truly where the opportunity and money is. If we had these types of success rate in this industry then we could lobby our government officials to stop putting so many roadblocks and regulations in place for the fine companys within this industry to achieve success or be legal because they are comparing MLM or Network Marketing against the traditional business model without really understanding, being involved or caring about our industry. One example is the regulation which was put in place in March which stated that companies could no longer provide customers for their distributors.

Unfortunately, to tell the truth, I believe some of the upcoming qualifiers which are being put in place ( I pray that I am wrong on this one) are being put in place because ZeekRewards has been beat up so bad in the media and they are being forced to go beyond and above the letter of the law. I truly hope these new qualifiers will not keep the average, single mother, retiree or young person with no marketing skills from earning an income from this great company because these are the 95% who we should be concerned about and who will provide us the voice we need to improve the opportunities in this industry and who can help us to lobby our government representatives to work with us in this industry instead of having to worry if a perfectly legitimate company will be shut down because of so many folks crying wolf.

I respect Troy so very much for reminding us that we need to work together in this industry to find solutions and learn from each other instead of attacking each other just because something is new or different.

The 95 percenters will tell you they can get a cheaper, better juice product at their local grocery store also, and that is why they are not joining the many fine juice companys, in this industry and the government says the juice companys cannot use certain words in their advertising when in fact the truth of the matter is most of the juice products in the MLM industry are phenomenal and they work, or the company which manufactures them goes out of business quickly but because of the doubters, naysayers and regulations so many suffering folks are not exposed to the fine products this industry produces and spend the rest of their lives on drugs which continues to damage their health because a few naysayers complain and unfortunately spread untruths which is what the drug company's want to happen.

It is so sad that because a company has decided to 'Share Revenue' for placing advertisements, which obviously work because of the successful traffic they generate they re being attacked instead of being learned from, for example what would happen if 95% of the companies in this industry were in the top 500 sites in the world for traffic and shared the results of that advertising with their distributors instead of paying the big advertising firms…simple idea, mega results!

Folks lets work together and all be on the same team. Thank you Troy for being an excellent coach, God Bless.

    • Dan.M.

      @ H.L Williams

      Amen!

      • Gwen

I cannot reiterate enough how much i appreciate the information submitted by HL Williams. Honestly, I have never seen (or heard) anyone explain so clearly the problems/answers to this whole zeekrewards phenomenon. His response struck a chord with me that exactly fits everything I have ever thought about the smaller individual having the same chances at success as the guy with lots of money. I totally agree and emphasize with every word and cannot believe that people are sitting on the sidelines criticizing without looking at the bigger picture of how this company is helping the little guy.

We do not need to [pressure our families and friends to try to recruit them but can benefit from our own input if that is the path we choose to take. It is a dream come true for most of us who have been cheated out of life savings by companies out to line their pockets only. When finally a company comes forth that allows us to build a better future with resources we now have (no matter how little or how big) there should be "kudos" instead of recriminations! thank you Paul burks and Zeekrewards!

  • John

I too take great pleasure in awarding Chang and Oz honors. Unfortunately, they are too cowardice to show their faces to the world. Keep bashing Zeek and I will continue making a lot more money than you jokers do.

    • Troy Dooly

      @John,

I can fully understand the emotions running high on both sides of an issue when both sides are looking at it from two worldviews.

In the case of Oz, he has always been straightforward on he feeling about Zeek, and although on the issue we totally disagree, I have found that Oz over the years has provided a great service for people, especially when it comes to international scams that he has covered. Many of the traditional MLMs he covers we will not totally see eye to eye, but he does provide a balance.

Plus, he runs a couple of blogs and it is easy to get to know Oz, he does not write from an anonymous position. Because he does hit some pretty big and criminally run scams, he does not use his full name on his blog.

As for Chang, he is not anonymous either, although he has found it is wiser for him as a skeptic of MLM to use public platforms when blogging, so he does not have passionate reps who disagree with him showing up at his home.

He is very congruent with his opinions and and I have to respect that. He also can carry on a critical thinking conversation, not just a bunch of negative propaganda like so many folks.

In each case, the critics have brought up some interesting topics, allow non censored conversation and did what I feel is a pretty good job, of showing their points and deductions based on their worldview of the issue.

I also feel that in at least a few cases, but seeing whee they were coming from, I was able to provide some ideas to the corporate office to help shore up what regulators might see as weakness.

By the way both of these folks communicate openly with me through email, and are very willing to answer questions or ask questions.

Agian, I fully know where you are coming from, but there are others in this community which might be better to call out :)

      • http://globaldaddy.com Abey of Ri

        Troy

I am not just calling them out but i want them to lay claim to some credit but it is a tough pill in the sense that it will amount to some credit to Zeek in return . Will they take credit and give some or walk away from it just because they can not afford to give some.

    • Gwen

      You go, john!

  • David W

Troy – thank you for all the hard work you do and for your willingness to post as much information as you have regarding not just Zeek, but network marketing as a whole. My concern, however, being a fairly new affiliate (about 3 months) to this company is that no one ever told me that the company was going to completely restructure their compensation plan. But, from what you just announced, it looks like the ENTIRE compensation plan and structure has and will be revamped. This is NOT what I signed up for. Therefore, how can the company justify, or even legally change their entire compensation plan and requirements when affiliates signed on to a company under a completely different business model? The lure of this company was not having to go out and constantly find customers in order to get paid and have to "Sell" a physical product from some store (like Amway). MANY people have said that what they like about this company is that you aren't selling a specific product, but an idea or a way for them to buy items at a steal (penny auctions). We were told that we get paid to advertise. NOW we are being told that unless we sell their products we can't get paid. THAT IS NOT the deal I originally made with this company when I first signed up. Also, If Paul bought this other company, we didn't sign on to that company so how can we be "FORCED" to promote, sell or do anything with this new company he purchased. Again…not what I signed up for.

Quite frankly, almost no one in my upline uses the FSC store because it is pathetic with what is in there to sell. There is not one affiliate I know that promotes this side of the business (FSC store). SO with that being said, how can they legally change the entire compensation plan and require us to change with them and having no recourse to request an "out" without loosing all the money we originally put in to this company? Especially since I was never told that a change was coming.

Also, the company has a HUGE glitch going on right now with getting the daily repurchased bids automated in to our RPPs. Unless you give your bids away manually and find 3-5 or more people A DAY to give free bids away, you don't get any daily earnings on those bids. This hurts quite a bit, especially if you have retired points every day…your balance continues to go in the negative. The company says this is a glitch they are working on but have no idea when it will be fixed. Are they planning on making up the lost earnings for all affiliates once the glitch is fixed? Many people are concerned that this is going on because the company doesn't have enough money to "pay out" their affiliates. Personally I think it is just a glitch but this has been occuring since 7/18 and SO many affilaites have been complaining and being affected, yet the company has yet to put out a statement to let us know that they are aware of this glitch and are working on getting it up and running. I have to say that when it comes to communication, this company has been very poor at best.

I first heard about the new qualifier change about two months ago (after I joined), but that it was only going to affect those who joined the company and were originally on the old FCC program so not to worry about any new changes. Then I was told that the new qualifier issues that were ONLY for the old FCC affiliates was that they just needed 2 new customers a month to purchase at least 20 bids to qualify. Then Dawn made a comment back in May/June that the qualifiers was going to be announced in July…NOPE…Nothing. And, they didn't send out another news report to at least say they apologize for missing the July deadline but until it is completely where they want it to be, the qualifier announcement will be forthcoming as soon as possible. NOTHING…why are they so lousy with communication.

I had a lot of faith and excitement in the company because I saw real results. But now, I'm so disappointed with all the IT glitches, poor communication and now COMPLETE changes to the compensation plan that I don't know what I'm going to do. A number of people in my downline have already seen your announcement and ready to come at me with pitchforks….This is just very disconcerting.

    • Troy Dooly

      @David W,

First let me say thank you for the kind words. I am celebrating my daughter's 18th and my 25th, but since the girls are still in bed, I will take a little time to answer this important comment.

      1. The company is not restructuring the complete compensation plan. However, they are adding qualifiers to the RPP portion of the compensation plan. This has been in the works since last March or April and each month the company has made it clear that someone in the future it would happen. Also in the P&Ps it is clear under #60 Amendments, that the company can from time to time make changes. This is common in all companies who use independent business owners aka affiliates to maintain the integrity of the compensation plan.

You have been buying and selling Zeek products from day one if you are qualified for maxing out the compensation plan… Bids and showing people how they can save money in the auctions, or by buying the product at a fair price if they did not win the auction. On the 22nd when ZeeBates launches, you will be given a powerful new was to show people how they can save even more money.

I am not sure why you feel the complete compensation plan is changing, or that the focus is changing. The company is looking for ways to increase your overall commissions without changing the business model. The new qualifiers do just that. Those who are just getting in will continue doing as they are now, while getting certified through the compliance course and setting up their daily advertising routine. Then when they qualify and hit the 10001 points RPP, they will see the new qualifiers kick in 2,4,6,8 retail monthly customers.

As for Paul buying another network marketing company, which is a cool move also, I have seen nowhere privately or publicly where Paul or the company has said anything about making it mandatory you sell those products to anyone. If you have been told this or you can send a link I will gladly review it. And by the time RVG makes it public which company it is, you really do not know if you would want to promote the product or not. For that matter no one publicly may ever know what company it was, or anything. The product may be so close to what Zeek is already doing, that on the surface we would not see much change.

      2. I do meet with folks on a monthly basis who do use the FSC store system. They are folks who own their own outside businesses and sell their products through those stores. See, inside of Rex Venture Group, there are several types of people. One type of affiliate was drawn to the company years ago, by the FSC stores and have been using them worldwide to build their businesses. Some of these folks are at the top of the compensation plan, and were sitting where you are today when Paul decided to launch the penny auctions.

This last weekend one of them told me a story just about like you are sharing here. They did not want to try and focus on placing an ad each day for some auction, because they were already busy, and knew they would not be using the auctions, because they could not place their products in the auction to sell.

But, they went along with things, started placing ads, talking to others about the Zeek Rewards side of things. Well, today, they are glad they decided to engage instead of quitting like one of their upline did. Change just for the sake of change sucks. But when a leader, who is willing to think outside the box, is willing to do what others won't do, and are willing to risk more than others will risk, and we as the outsiders are willing to open our eyes to what the change might mean in the big picture of things, then we get to benefit from these changes. When we close our mind before we have all the facts, then we limit out own success and the potential success of those we influence. I would challenge you keep an open mind until you get all the fact.

By the way, if you have been reading Zeek Rewards News, or reading my editorials or watching the videos, then you should have known a change was coming. It has been talked about for months across the net.

      3. So let me make sure I fully understand what you wrote. Some affiliates feels the glitch is not really a glitch, but is the company manipulating the compensation plan (RPP) payout because they do not have enough money to pay the affiliates who qualify for the RPP?

If I understand you correctly as I stated above, then let me put your mind at ease. I know about what the weekly gross commission payout is, and I also know what a few of the weekly deposits have been, and the deposits far outweigh the commissions.

Now sure if you were at Red Carpet Day or not, but at the RCD it was announced who all the new executives of the company are, and what their roles are. The new CTO and his team are handling the frustration of the underlying code used to run the websites and database. This has been a huge issue talked about for months across the net. When the new code and server farms are taken live, your frustration and the glitch will be gone.

You do not hire the top brass, or buy a company when you can't pay affiliates. :)

And, as for the manual work of giving away bids to customers… Well that would sure take away some of the critics issues that Zeek affiliated don;t have to work for their money. :)

Seriously, this glitch has been happening off and on since at least May. In reviewing the posts at Zeek Rewards News we see where when the company has huge growth months, this glitch comes to the surface.

You will not see me disagree with you on the communication issue. With the new communication direction coming on board, and Dawn now back in her role as CMO dealing only with the Affiliates and not with the operations of the company, I feel the communications from all levels will start to improve. In the mean time I will do my best to keep folks posted on things.

      4. Zeek Rewards news for months has been talking about the qualifiers. And in July they did explain what the qualifiers would be, just not the details, because they have been waiting until all the coding is done and they are ready to launch ZeeBates. Several affiliates who I talked with at RCD told me they had not waited until the company made it mandatory, they had already attracted just retail bidders at Zeekler, who really did not want anything to do with the network marketing opportunity.

These affiliates realized that the more customers (not affiliates) they have the more money they were making in the compensation plan. And the more money they made personally. It has always been and always will be the customer base of a company that allows it to sustain through the early stages of growth to become a legacy company.

With the new ZeeBates platform it is my understanding that 100% of the net revenue is going to count in the RPP pool. Do you realize the potential of what this could mean? Look at the big shopping and entertainment portals across the net, FourSquare and GroupOn. Millions go to those sites each day looking for international, nation and local deals. If we add millions and millions of eyeballs coming to your ZeeBates site and the deals they get are based on where they live or are located at the moment, do you not feel you will convert some of them. You place a new ad, driving them to the site and BAM, new customers on a monthly basis who are spending cold hard cash and getting cash back.

Again, change is something most folks do not like. But if we do not change, then another company will come along and kick our butt, no matter what business we own. Just look at AOL… Yahoo kicked it's butt… Look at Yahoo… Google kicked it's butt. Look at Sears… KMart kicked it's butt… Look at KMart…. WalMart kicked its butt… Sears and KMart go bankrupt, merge in bankruptcy and WalMart is still kicking their butts. Look at Starbucks… the critics said… No one will pay $5.00 for a $.50 cent cup of coffee… Well my stock and wallet sure made the critics look foolish… But they did not want to change.

      5. Not sure which announcements our downline are talking about. I have not done a post or video yet. But come the first of the week, I will be making some great announcements on what RVG has done and how this these moves will give the affiliates more opportunities to earn a nice income. Is work going to be involved… YEP. Because no matter what the marketing method one uses, we must do some work to earn an income.

But… with that said, when we work smart, we may not have to work as hard as those who are looking for entitlements or handouts. I saw a guy standing in the heat yesterday on the island I am visiting to celebrate my 25th and my daughter's 18th, and thought, if he would get a job and do a little work, he might not have to stand in the heat asking for a handout. (and no I am not suggesting you or your team is looking for a handout.) just stating that all success is preceded with some form of work, mental or physical.

Paul Burks put in at least 15 years of hard work at REX Venture Group, before he came up with the penny auction project and hit a home run, for the company and hundreds of thousands of affiliates. But since it has NEVER been done before the company is the pioneer, and due to that fact, change is going to take place every step of the way.

Show me a legacy company in any industry earning billions in sales, paying millions in commissions and I will show you a company with leadership who were willing to change every step of the way.

      Living An Epic Adventure,
      Troy

      • Holl

        Troy,

WOW thanks for the explanation. It sounds like I will have the chance to purchase customers from the new company RVG has bought and buy my customers from them? If so can I buy my 2,4,6,8 customers from this new company and show them the zee bates site? By doing this zeek rewards will pay me my rpp for the day?

        thanks

        HT

        • Troy Dooly

          @Holl,

Not sure at all what you are talking about. I think you may have misunderstood my comment. Take some time to review it again. The company is not selling customers at all. You have to go attract the customers, with your ads just like you do today.

      • Rob

        Hey Troy,

While I will agree that the company has mentioned "qualifiers" a few times in the last several months, they have also gone out of their way to emphasize that these "qualifiers" won't apply to me. From Feb. 27 Zeekrewardsnews.com post titled "Goodbye 5CC – hello PRC!!"

"The Great News: You can qualify to receive customer registrations through Zeek’s www rotator which has fed the 5cc since it’s conception by simply qualifying to do so!

As a special March introductory offer – simply sell 2 Zeekler PRC (Preferred Retail Customer) Subscriptions of any level to qualify for the entire month of March!

Please Note: Additional qualifiers will be put into place for April going forward so take FULL ADVANTAGE of this incredible offer NOW!

What does this mean to you?

For many affiliates it means you can receive customers though us…FOR FREE!

For many affiliates it means nothing whatsoever…because we have tens of thousands of affiliates who are not enrolled in the 5cc! So, for those of you who have chosen to get your own free registered customers as a rule…who are saying “5cc? What’s the 5cc?” No worries…carry on."

And from the April 29 entry on Zeekrewardsnews.com titled "Deadline for PRC qualifier pushed to June 1st":

"Hello fine people! Due to some recent challenges that a portion of our affiliateship has been experiencing processing their payments, we are extending the 2 PRC qualifier for an additional 30 days.

Please Note: This notice is for old 5cc subscribers only and no one else. If you were not a paying subscriber to the 5cc program prior to March 30th, 2012 – this does not pertain to you in any way."

I appreciate the fact that this company and every successful company for that matter has to change and adapt. But I have to say, When I signed on the deal was that affiliates get paid to advertise. There was no 10,000 point limit, and then I had to do something else. The company made it abundantly clear that the qualifier "thingy" that they were talking about did not apply to me. This sounds like it will be a pretty significant change, and if so could be construed as a bait and switch situation.

I recognize that a company needs customers to be profitable. I also recognize that being held to a standard of a certain number of paying customers is not the deal that was offered to me. It may turn out that I like the new deal; but I DO NOT like the idea that they can change the game and there be no way for me opt out and get my money back if I happen to not like the new deal.

        Thanks for what you do!

        • Troy Dooly

          @Rob,

I answered this elsewhere in the comments.

But, I can fully see your point. Here are some thoughts…

          1. How many folks in the last few months have you presented the Zeekler/Zeek Rewards story and they were not interested? They are the first folks you want to connect with.

          2. The net banners will be made available in the back off and you can use one of them to market daily to attract customers.

          3. I am going to do a fully editorial on this very subject to help all the affiliates understand what this means.

Overall I can't see much change in the compensation or marketing plan…. except the RPP point balance will go up as the revenue from customers saving cash at ZeeBates goes up.

      • Gerard

Troy, As a returning MlM ( got burn out) and a lover of our industry . Who has experienced failure in Mainstream Business Models and In MlM I sincerely hope your analysis of the Zeek situation is correct. I am at late middle age and need Zeek to work not only for me but more importantly for those I have introduced to the Zeek opportunity.

        Have a great double celebration.

        Yours in gratitude.

        Gerard F May

        • Troy Dooly

          @Gerard,

Having covered several different topics surrounding Zeek Rewards, Zeekler, and Rex Venture Group, LLC., can you share which analysis you are referring, or is it the overall synopsis?

          • Gerard

Troy, it would have to be your overall analysis, as yours is comforting, but certainly logical. I have built company's to over T/O $20,000,000 and not without the logistical nightmares or even teething problems to say the least.

          • Troy Dooly

            @Gerard,

I have seen many companies come and go, and read more than my share of lawsuits, court opinions and founders and CEOs explaining why their companies succeed and fail. Very few have gone through what Rex Venture Gorup LLC., has gone through over the last few months with anything on their minds but survival. Paul Burks on the other hand, just put his head down, found some great people to hire who are smarter than he is in some areas, and went back to the white board to see what is next.

And, what amazes me the most is the majority of affiliates, from the leaders down have been willing to stick it out. Now down't get me wrong, some very smart top affiliates and some who were just there to see what the weaknesses were and try and do it better, have left to launch competing companies.

But, as with most folks who follow the pioneer, what they did not seem to realize is the penny auctions were just the launching pad, not the end game, and Paul is already way past just being a penny auction company. His goal is to become one of the top eCommerce companies in the world.

I can tell you from a personal observation, this has been one remarkable stories to follow in current history, and in my opinion ranks right up there with Art Williams launching A.L. Williams and taking on the life insurance industry.

      • tommy

hey troy, first time blogger, i'm going to put another 5000.00 into zeekrewards this monday 7-30-12, my question is,,, should i waite and put it in ZEEBATES instead. i have bought 60 zeek customers it's no prolbem to give away free bids everyday if zeek is backed up, it;s what i'm GETTING PAID FOR!

        THANKS

        TOMMY

        • Troy Dooly

          @Tommy,

If I were you I would wait, because based on your comment, you do not seem to fully understand Zeek Rewards, or else you did not take and understand the compliance course.

At Zeek Rewards, you buy bids, and give those bids away or use them yourself.

You mentioned putting money into Zeek, which tends to lead me and others to believe you are promoting Zeek out of compliance and that is grounds for termination. I would hate to see you or anyone terminated.

So if I were you, I would take or review the compliance course before you decide to purchase any new bids.

  • H. L.Williams

    @ David W.

1.."Unless you give your bids away manually and find 3-5 or more people A DAY to give free bids away, you don’t get any daily earnings on those bids"

( I know for a fact, this is totally untrue, if it was I would be speaking out about it)

2."But, from what you just announced, it looks like the ENTIRE compensation plan and structure has and will be revamped"

(That is not what Troy announced or implied)

3."Quite frankly, almost no one in my upline uses the FSC store because it is pathetic with what is in there to sell. There is not one affiliate I know that promotes this side of the business (FSC store)"

( I guess you have not looked at the wholesale prices and are aware of the fact they exist and that many people successfully promoted that store for years, myself included)

4."that they just needed 2 new customers a month to purchase at least 20 bids to qualify"

(Hmm, that is not how it was explained to me)

5."now COMPLETE changes to the compensation plan that I don’t know what I’m going to do. A number of people in my downline have already seen your announcement and ready to come at me with pitchforks"

(Have you noticed that when the company makes changes that they give us the tools first to adjust with those changes. Have you noticed the drastic price reduction in the marketing system, which works, went from $170.00 annually to $30.00 annually? Statements like the ones you are making actually lead to changes, which we have been told over the past six months, repeatedly, that the company would be making adjustments and changes as necessary)

6."no recourse to request an “out” without loosing all the money we originally put in to this company?"

( I guess we are looking at two different compensation pans because I cannot see how that is true if you have been with the company about 3 months)

6."Are they planning on making up the lost earnings for all affiliates once the glitch is fixed?"

    (Have you noticed they do?)

I could comment on a few more of your statements but it appears you are over-reacting because people in your downline feel they may have to do a little work and are on your case. I myself do not like the changes but I know they are necessary to keep this company strong and to protect the affiliates. I believe you have good intentions, but ask yourself do we have all the facts yet. Troy has explained the positive aspect of the changes from what I can see so far. Honestly ask yourself if this is the company for you, I just do not see how you can lose the money you initially purchased bids with if you move your repurchase to o% if you have been with the company the amt. of time you say you have.

If I have been a little hard on you, I am sorry, but my concern was that others would take your statements and run rampant with them without having the facts. I myself was concerned about the forthcoming improvements/ changes but actually finally had some type of piece of mind by what Troy has shared so far. It is so interesting how two people can read the same statement and come to two different conclusions.

If your downline is reading this please give David a break and go to the trainings and ask questions and get the truth, David shared this opportunity with you because he cared about you I believe so please be aware there will always be adjustments will a trail blazing company so lets learn to adjust with the adjustments from a company who really cares about us from what I can see.

Very, very well written. I would also like to state that every "company's Policies and Procedures, Terms Of Agreement are Living Documents… that is why an agreement may have a term or terminations clause … if someone does not agree with the new changes, they can terminate or re-sign under new conditions.

One of my biggest observations is that we bring people in out of "our" need and desire to succeed and earn from a new person. If "we" are not 100% transparent in advising our new affiliates to READ the Terms, Policies, etc. then we are negligent in teaching them forward to read what they are signing up for and agreeing to.

      • Gwen

I have only one disagreement with the statement you made: "One of my biggest observations is that we bring people in out of “our” need and desire to succeed and earn from a new person. My desire is not to benefit from others (but I will regardless) but to have others benefit from the program the way I am doing. I think that is the biggest thing i have gained from this whole experience: that I am benefiting in a way I never thought possible in my life time and I just want others to realize the same benefits

with all the hand wringing and stresses that i see from the various critical comment relative to the zeekrewards program i've never yet clearly seen where the critic speaks as to what part of the comp plan they feel is inappropriate; so, in a sentence, one sentence…would someone (a critic) please state what part of the comp plan is suspect?

I hope you realize that the FCS store is a free web site for people like you and i to even add items that we want to sell. You can totally turn the site to your our eCommerce website and add items that you want to sell instead of designing a website from scratch. Before i joined Zeek, i had seen the FSC stores in different formats with different types of products. Be creative with the FSC and you will make more money .Visit your local stores and buy new items on sale.List them and push your store.Change is difficult but it is a necessity. Learn from the metamorphosis of babies from the day they pop out to the day they start surfing the web.

As for Zeek, look at the metamorphosis of butterfly from egg to adult. Methinks we are getting out of the cocoon now.The pain and struggle will be there. In the case of butterfly, restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the cocoon were God's way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that the emerged butterfly would be ready for flight once the butterfly achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

Zeek has not even started.Watch her get free from the cocoon. However, when the train leaves station as in the butterfly, will you allow insignificant issue of customers acquisition which is the basis of business in the first place be an issue? As for me , i have made up my mind to do all that it takes legally to be on board and appreciate the unique opportunity in zeek.If you see any opportunity like zeek, let me know.I am yet to see one and i will hold on firmly to this with all my wherewithal. Paul is the only MLM owner in history that decides to hold our hands and teach us how to prosper. I see zeek as a franchise in my hand and i will work to sustain it. Please see it from this angle.

If logging in to your back office and give the bids to your customers as issue, i do not think you want to do anything at all. This is business. Tell your down-line who do not want to do this {but want this automated} to cash out.

Someone gave you butter and bread , spread latter on former and you now complain he did not put it in your month.Oliver twist did not even ask for that.

Until you see zeek as your business you will not understand the import of all this changes. It is for the good of all.

  • Concerned affiliate,

    Troy,

First, I would like to thank you what you do and for bringing to us the most updated and detailed information regarding zeekrewards and it upcoming changes. It is because of you and your posts that I even joined zeekrewards and continued to recruit new affiliates.

Second, although I totally understand the need for change especially in the light of the industry of MML and a company’s need to stay legal while trying to build a sustainable business, I am concerned that the core compensation plan (RPP) as it was presented to so many will change after reaching a 10,000 VIP balance.

I am still clinging to Dawn’s own words on how Paul and others wanted to create a business model that allowed the average person to succeed in this type of business without having to go out and recruit and sale. That’s why they came up with the whole advertising to get paid comp plan plus you had to give away whatever bids you purchase. Those who recruited and did more, earned more but there still was earning potential for those who did not want to recruit or sale. Now once you hit 10,000 VIP, you no longer earn (RPP) unless you get “paying customers” for zeekbates. Please note that I know a lot of affiliates that are really only interested in the (RPP) earning portion of the compensation plan. And only want to advertise and give bids away. They have no interest in recruiting or sales. I am guessing that we will be required to place ads for zeekbates but placing ads does not guarantee “paying customers”. This is where my concerns lay. Now affiliates are going to have to go out recruit customers to zeekbates in hopes that some of them join and spend a certain amount each month. Now zeekrewards model is no different than any of the other MML internet business out there where you have to have a certain amount of product purchased in order to earn compensation. Yes, the portion of what is be divided among affiliates might be different but the main concept seems to be the same. You have to recruit and maintain a certain level of sales under you or you do not earn. This is not how zeekrewards to initially presented. It was the auction site that attracted so many.

I have been an affiliate for just shy of 4 months. My original bid purchase was 1,000.00. Through hard work on my part and recruiting, my bid balance is over 18K. I am not about to disclose my earning because that is my business. I am so not complaining, I have been extremely happy with Zeekrewards, but I am concerned. When others have been complaining about the growing pains, which have been many, I have been patient and hopeful that all would work out, and it has. There are a few issues still lingering but zeek has always lived up to their word and have fixed the issues. I can’t say the same for this new qualifier. I foresee a lot of people dropping out like flies. I hope the powers to be have consider this because it will effect everyone’s overall productivity.

I know a lot of retirees who were looking for a few extra bucks each month to carry them through with a little dedication each day without sales or recruiting they could watch their little nest egg grown. These are the people that I am most concerned about. I personally, plan to adjust and will do whatever is needed to succeed but there are so many who will be put off by this change. There are people in my downline who will withdraw and walk away. This will affect me and I am sure there are many others in the same situation. I will not be recruiting new affiliates until after new requirements for compensation have been made public.

And for the record, I believe you (not zeekrewardsnews) are the only one who has really defined the changes at all. I believe I read it once or twice on zeekrewardsnews that zeekbate qualifiers were coming in July and that was it, now details.

Maybe my concerns will be put to rest once the qualifiers go into effect. Maybe RVC has come up with a way that they can stick to their initial idea but only time will tell.

    Thank you for your time

    • Troy Dooly

      @Concerned Affiliate,

I think your concerns and apprehension is very warranted, especially when you use your own life lens and Paul and Dawn's words to filter these changes through.

Let me add just a little for you and others to think about. Then expect an editorial in the next few days to cover this very topic since we see so many concerned.

      1. ZeeBates is an additional revenue stream which will need to be promoted through the marketing arm of the company Zeek Rewards.

      2. New banners and ads will be created to market this new service to the ZR affiliates

      3. Daily you will help market the new platform and as customers start to use it and save money you should see a viral movement of your new ZeeBate customers tells their friends.

      4. All those folks you have told the Zeekler and Zeek Rewards story, who have not been interested… well now you have a group of folks you can talk with who do not need to be sold anything. You don't have to start from scratch to tell the story, all you do is send some updated info or call them and say we can now save you money at WalMart, Best Buy, Amazon, Starbucks, Vegas etc.

      5. Overall nothing has changed, except he company listened and figured out a way to help you in the field generate more revenue to be placed inside the RPP.

But… Due to the fact we all have been screwed sometime or another in our lives, we have this "I've been screwed again" mindset that we may not even know we have.

This is so important, I will address it this week.

        @ Troy

Do you know if the discounts offered by zeebates will apply to stores located outside of the U.S? – Target or kmart in Australia for example. Or is it online shopping from U.S based companies only?

        • Troy Dooly

          @Dan,

Great question. I know there are 5000 merchants and over 300 million products available. It is my understanding that the discounts are available worldwide wherever the merchant is located.

  • David W

Troy – once again I've always been extremely impressed and have the greatest amount of respect for your honest, insightful and extremely knowledgeable information regarding Zeek and MLM as a whole. And, impressed that you took the time out of your amazing celebration to answer my question. I hope your loved ones weren't too "upset" with you. But again, it shows your dedication and passion.

The reason I am very disgruntled goes back to what Troy has been saying all along….If we are NOT training our downline properly and marketing this business appropriately and within compliance, it can ruin the company (not corporate heads, but the affiliates that can bring this company down if not careful). While my upline was "pitching" the business to me, NO WHERE did they EVER mention that there are going to be changes and additions coming down the pipeline. They never even insinuated or even made a statement like, "eventually the company may add a customer acquisition requirement, but at this time we are not sure what that may be." NOTHING of that nature. They pretty much sold this business as, and unfortunately I fear many have been doing, as a place to "put your money," place an ad every day, and watch your earnings grow while you sleep. I feel many in this company have been "pitched" in this manner. I say this because when I go out to Zeeks new Customer Support Forum, I see a lot of affiliates make these types of statements, "I was told that all I had to do was make sure I placed an add every day and never worry again and just watch my earnings grow," or something similar in this nature. They were lured by the simplicity and, quite frankly, the feel of "easy money" the business compensation plan seemed to be, or at least how it was presented to be.

This is exactly how I was pitched. And frankly, it was a very alluring invitation and so we jumped at the chance. WHAT…earn 1.5% a day just by placing an ad, not HAVING to recruit or sell anything and I make money…HECK YA…SIGN ME UP!!! That is actually the first thing my upline said to us when they wanted us to sit down with them to learn about this company. It wasn't until a few weeks later we heard a report from you and we realized the advantage of recruiting. Unfortunately, we recruited the same way we were taught and since we were never told of qualifiers, etc. or anything about the past FCC or any of that knowledge, we therefore did not prepare our downline that something like this was coming down the road. The first time I heard about the qualifiers, which was about a month AFTER I was in the business, I had a rather long discussion with my upline in that they did not at all prepare me, or even let me know that something like this was coming. They said that it is in ZeekNews, but I told them that before I joined the company, how was I to know what was in ZeekNews. That is where I, as a prospective affiliate, needed them to be completely forthcoming and trusted that they were giving me all the information I needed to know about this company. Their only comeback was that it is in ZeekNews, and my comeback was…I DID NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ZEEKNEWS since I was not an affiliate in this company. Thus, it was their responsibility when telling me about this company of ALL possible changes, additions, etc. that were coming down the pipeline. They did admit to me during this conversation that they were aware that the company was going to announce a new qualifier program, but since they did not have the details, they felt it best not to confuse new associates. I'm sorry, but if they new this information, it is and should be their responsibility to make sure ALL prospects are informed, even if they don't have all the details, they should have at least told us that sometime down the road the company is going to announce a new customer acquisition requirement.

So, in a nutshell, because of poor leadership with my upline and not "pitching" the business within compliance, this has been a little shock wave.

I do agree that we should not jump ship just yet until we hear all of the details, but I have so many in my downline that said they liked the fact that they didn't HAVE to recruit or sell a product to make money. That is actually what was told to us when the business was pitched was that you can still make money without recruiting or even selling. But now, we will be required to "sell" and a lot of my team is very upset, since a number of them are little old grannies that were looking to have a place to grow great earnings. My upline was even telling us to get your wife, kids, grandkids signed up and treat it like a college fund. Can you imagine all those that may have done this? If their children are pre-teen, or even in their teens, how can they POSSIBLY manage this like a business. But, that is how our leadership has been pitching this business…and STILL DO. There was a post on our FB page not but a few weeks ago pitching this very idea of signing your kids up so they can watch their "money" grow and get better returns than a college fund. Again, treating it like an investment, which we've been told NOT to do.

Also, I did read that Paul Burkes wanted a business where those who were not good at sales could still make good money doing network marketing. But now, sales will be required so for those of us who are NOT good at sales, it can be a little scary and daunting. The allure of Zeek Rewards was NOT having to go out and acquire customers (or that was what we were told anyway when we were pitched the business).

In conclusion, the company was misrepresented to me and I, in turn, have misrepresented to my downline. I think you can see my frustration that perhaps not so much toward the business heads, but on the horrific training and recruiting my upline has done and how it is now coming back to haunt them and myself. Thank you again for letting me express my concerns and vent just a tad. I do feel a little duped by those that I thought I could trust.

As always, doing a remarkable job in getting the information to us.

    • Troy Dooly

      @David W,

I fully understand, and fight this issue daily as I try to bring focus and understanding to those who have never been in any network marketing company, who have joined Zeek.

As a matter of fact this is one issue both the critics of Zeek and I agree. Sadly, this happens in every network marketing company and to help fight it, some partners and I launched the world's first 24/7 Home Business Radio Network to provide real insight into all home business, and not just network marketing.

It is also the reason I fight so hard to keep real facts and info flowing about the who Zeek business.

Now to some thoughts on what you wrote.

      1. Overall nothing is really changing in the marketing method as I see it. New banner ads will go up for ZeeBates, and you will be able to use them to place across the net to attract new customers.

      2. Based on the quality of the local, national and international promos and cash savings from all the retailers participating in the program, I beleive you will quickly see folks who have not wanted to join your Zeek Rewards team, or have not been interested in Zeekler, now buying from your ZeeBates site to save money.

As an example, if Walmart is looking to get a leg up on Black Friday, and decide to make 10,000 gift cards available for 10% to 20% off their face amount. This will draw such massive traffic as you promote it, that you will have no problem getting customers. Or let's say that one of the Vegas Resorts decide to run a weekend promo and folks can come to your site and get an all expense paid trip for 2 for 3 days, for 75% off the cost, a certain group of folks will eat this up.

Or one even better… the New iPads become available through ZeeBates for $150.00 less than any of the retail stores, do you think folks will grab them?

With he power of the Zeekler database of 3,000,000.00 people who have at least seen it, and the Zeek Rewards dada base of affiliates whatever it is, I think this new revenue stream will help increase your overall residual income opportunity unlike the majority of network marketing companies.

If you look at companies like Team National and N.C. based Market America you see the amount of revenues generated through providing real customers with a chance to help a friend by buying their online purchases through their personal portals.

All Paul and his crew have done is make sure you can offer the best, without changing the business model.

Sadly, we have all been screwed so many times, when we hear of change, we tend to take a defensive posture.

Again, there is no excuse for poor leadership. If you want some additional general leadership and team coaching, then feel free to tune into the Home Business Radio Network

On the call last Thursday…Alex specifically addressed a question regarding another new penny auction that has many mega Zeek peeps involved and he said that we are not out of compliance being a part of that opportunity! He called the name of the other penny auction as well. Kind of confused now. These Zeek leaders, one of which I am in communication with, are bringing their whole downline into this op?! So maybe I am misunderstanding something. The call is recorded and posted on youtube. Thanks

    • Troy Dooly

      @Sue,

I never said being a part of other penny auctions are an issue. I did make it clear several affiliates are cross recruiting which is an issue.

  • Greg

Well, looks like the torch has been carried to its destination! We will soon see the results of our tears (not our fears!) and hard work pay off! New streams of revenue ought to get your motors revving Zeeksters! I am part of the Zeeksters too, but also have a business in a highly compliance oriented market, no thanks to those who lied to people causing complaints and the government to call for stricter marketing guidelines.

I am excited about the news of a stronger, more dedicated company, which sides for the affiliate and wants me to make it. Aren't you? Who else is pulling for you? To lose, yes, many of those know-it-all brother-in-laws (no reference to mine), crabs in a bucket, don't want you to succeed, because they will look bad. Oh and by the way, seems as though the commissions problems have gone away now that I'm set up with the ewallets, I even had a deposit last week. Now I'm loaded for bear!

  • Penny4YourThoughts

    @David W

Don't put all the blame on your upline. Leadership begins at the top and despite todays compliance this is not the "roots" of ZeekRewards. Simply go listen to some of the early leadership calls archived in your back office and you will hear talk of "investments", "passive income", "no recruiting", and "compounding". Read the welcome email sent out to all new members and you will still see the opportunity to join the long stopped "5CC".

Many affilliates and some of of the top producers had videos all over YouTube that have long been removed because of the same compliance reasons. Undoing the frankenstein that they created has been a work in progress for a year. They have come a long way but still have a long way to go as you are seeing first hand.

I have built my downline in compliance since I joined, as have many others. Become a leader with your group and you can help change the mindset and the quality of the affilliate moving forward. ZeekRewards can be a great opporutunity if you build it for the long term rather than looking for investors out for the quick buck.

    • H. L.Williams

      @ Penny4YourThoughts

      Thank You.

  • David W

Troy – I know the announcement is coming out soon, but I have some prospects that are interested in the company and as I "pitch" them the business I would like to get a little more clarity around Zeebates.

Someone speculated that for every 10k RPP points you have, you will NEED to have a customer using and purchasing from Zeebates a set amount each month in order to get earnings on your RPP daily. If this is the case, there are some people that have so many points right now in their RPP that they would need 40-60 customers every month in order to earn their daily rewards. This seems rather daunting.

Also, there is speculation that this is going to work VERY similar to Ebates, or perhaps that is the company Paul purchased. If that is the case, won't that be direct competition for us and if not, where is Zeebates going to be better than if they are now using or prefer to use Ebates? In orther words, how can we market Zeebates as better than the competition (i.e., Ebates)? I mentioned this briefly to someone and they even said, "that sounds just like Ebates. I use Ebates already. So how will you guys be any different, or better to make it worth my while to use you instead of Ebates?"

    Thanks for clarifying!

  • hopeful

    troy,

I am hoping by directing this to you, it will actually get to the higher ups, since there is really no other way to be sure that the higher ups get some feedback through other channels.

They just announced today on the training call, that the cash available option will not be used to purchase the new compliance/video package. This is very concerning to me, because allowing to be paid for with internal cash would instantly squash the theories that this was just a money injection.

It was available for a day, then taken down, then available again for a day, then taken down and now stated it won't be coming back.

I can see NO other reason that everyone cannot use cash available to pay for this $30 fee, other than the reason mentioned above.

Please be sure they are aware of this issue, and the consequences of their actions. They are doing nothing but create fear by requiring more external funds be pumped into zeek in this manner.

Thanks Troy, I hope this gets to the right place.

    • Troy Dooly

      @Hopeful,

In listening to the call, and calling Dawn for a few clarifications here is the scoop.

      1. All Silvers will be allowed to use their "cash available commissions" to pay for the compliance and marketing system.

      2. Gold and Diamonds who are the leaders and can afford $29.95, will after their 30 days free trial will pay the $29.95.

Now as for a money injection…. I am somewhat confused with that mindset. The $29.95 is a huge decrease over the $185.00 that was being charged last month. The company was able to negotiate down the cost their venders. The marketing company has stopped charging all cards $15 for 30-days so the the affiliates can see the power of the system.

So, it would seem to me, that instead of infusing cash into the company, they are making sure the affiliates can afford to be 100% compliant worldwide.

But I have passed on your concerns.

      • hopeful

sorry, confused on your point 2.

are you saying that after 30 days, gold and diamonds will be able to pay with cash available? or still only via credit card?

My point about money injection is this:

In a time where comissions have been delayed for weeks, ewallets up and down and all around, already creates stress, along with all of oz/chang rhetoric about how the whole thing is a ponzi.

So ad to this, we have a new required purchase to make, which is the compliance/video package. I don't disagree that this is a great deal for this package, especially compared to the $15/mo charge previously. However, if the company really was hurting for money, and having an issue paying out comissions, this would be an ideal way to get some more external cash for the coffers. $30 x 700k affiliates is not chump change.

Now, allowing this to be paid for from cash available (or internal funds) completely wipes away this fear, as obviously this gives the company no money injection of external cash.

To make matters worse, the whole cash available is available for a day, or not wait now it isnt, ok its back, now its not except for silver affiliates etc, just confuses the issue even more.

Anyhow, I hope you can clarify your answer #2 above, and maybe alleviate the fear.

The issue was brought to me by some of my downline, and when mentioned in this light it was kind of an "ahh hmm, yeah i can see the possibility of that and understand your concern" moment.

Just hoping to disperse the fear, if possible.

        • Troy Dooly

          @Hoeful,

No, Gold and Diamonds will be paying the $29.95 for full access to the marketing system, with the two new videos each month. Not from "cash available."

I fully agree with your explanation of the issues and how the critics have used the issues to raise questions of cash flow. The company grew 30% last month through all these issues, and my next editorial will share some of the facts that came out of the RDC surrounding the growth and other info.

You also raise a great point on somehow giving credit to those who have been paying $15 per month since January, and those who have already paid for the compliance course.

I am drafting an email to Greg to raise these questions.

And since the "cash available" is your income to use as you desire, it makes since you can use it.

On that note, can't you just transfer the money to an eWallet and then transfer it back to pay for the system? Hmmm… I think I can answer my own question here. The additional fees from the eWallet would make it more expensive.

Well, let's see what we can find out :)

  • Gwen

All that is well and fine, Troy, except that there are no allowances being made for those of us who have already paid for several months of the 'yougetpaidtoadvertise" videos. In other words, we have already paid $15 a month for several months and in order to take the compliance course, we now have to pay the full amount of $29.95. It seems to me that those of us who have already been enrolled in the videos should get out compliance course for free whether we are Diamonds, Golds or not.

One other thing, I thought you were NOT a member of Zeekrewards but an unbiased bystander/watchdog; however, some of your comments lead me to believe this is not true; which in turn bothers me because it is refreshing and more subjective if you were/are making these observations from outside the company walls, with no bridges to burn or a…s to cover.

    • Troy Dooly

      @Gwen,

You bring a great point and I will send a detailed message up asking about this and sharing the concern.

I am NOT a member of ZEEK or any company. My son is a active distributor in ViTel which is public knowledge and my wife uses Advocare products, and all the girls in my family use Youngevity makeup.

My Life Insurance policy is from Primerica, and I take products daily from 21Ten, VEMMA and Youngevity.

But not since 2009 have I had any position in any company as a distributor building the company.

Penny auctions, really any auctions are not my thing. I have never used eBay, Zeekler, BidiFy or DubLi.

So, please share with me which comment might have caused you concern, because I would not want to cause you or anyone any frustration?

Also keep this in mind. If at any time regulators find that Rex Venture Group, LLC or their owners or officers have done anything criminally illegal, because I have covered this story so hard because of the size of the field force, I also can be held liable.

SO if you or anyone think I would put my family in financial jeopardy by hiding that I am an affiliate, just have not been around me enough. To learn more about what I stand for, when you get time listen to my daily Radio Show at Home Business Radio Network or read my bio here at MLM Help Desk.

I also work closely with 3rd party consultants and attorneys to help raise the standards of excellent in network marketing.

      Troy

    @ Gwen

Folks, we are now questioning the one person who brings an unbiased opinion to the table and has told us continually that he is not a member of any company and if you read his posts you will know that but you also feel it, which is a very good thing.

I have paid for the marketing program for months and myself I am very thankful that I no longer have the monthly cost.

Troy, nobody is responding to the many ads that I place each day now. What makes you believe that when Zeek rolls out the banners and other things to promote ZeeBates that you mention, that anybody will respond to them?

Frankly, my opinion of the ad venues suggested in our Zeek Rewards back offices is that they are worthless. Some of them show the account holder how many page views each ad has generated. All of mine (hundreds of them) have received 1, 2, 3, or a max of 4 page views.

Other affiliates report the same results in the forum at zeeksupport.zeekwards.com.

This begs the question: Where are all of the "customers" coming from if hardly anybody is viewing our ads?

This and the impending changes to be announced on August 22nd have me very concerned that my Diamond subscription and my initial sample VIP bids purchase of 10,000 bids are down the toilet.

I, like David W, joined Zeek Rewards under the premise that I would not have to try to be a pushy salesman in order to succeed with the company. I'm a retired IT guy; sales is just not in my DNA. Now, the rules are about to change in a big way on August 22nd.

I share all of David W's concerns and his praise for you running this blog here and sincerely addressing all of the questions and concerns posted in this comments section. That said, I do believe that you are looking at Zeek Rewards and the impending changes through somewhat rose-colored glasses.

If what I'm reading here is correct, I'm sunk. By the time August 22nd rolls around, I will have 50,000 – 60,000 VIP bid points. So I'm going to have to recruit 5, 6, 10, 12, whatever number of paying customers month after month after month in order to earn RPP?

    I'm disgusted by this prospect.

    Thanks for listening.

      @Dennis London,

Thank you for taking time to share this info. I would like to ask a couple of questions.

      1. When you say no one is responding. Are you saying that folks are not going to Zeekler, requesting free bids, or contacting you personally?

      2. Are you currently using banner ads, or just classifieds, and are you changing up your ad to different sites, or even the ad copy, it just cutting and pasting?

      3. I can;t answer why you only have a few clicks or customers viewing. I do know that folks using the banner ads and paying for advertising, are getting far better results. I also know that folks split testing and tweaking their ads are getting results. But I do believe it also depends on where you are placing the ad and the type of ad you are using. I would guess that some of the sites might be loaded with Zeek Ads, and you may need to do a little more work to tweak your campaign and find a new site.

      4. I do not see your bids or subscription going down the toilet, but you may need to do some testing and campaign modification to get your ratios up. Again, until I know the answers to the first two questions I can't give specific answers.

      5. I respect your opinion, and if I were in your shoes might even think the same thing. I would not call it Rose Colored Glasses, but I do have historical stats to go by, and based on those, I do feel the changes will be good for both the company and the affiliates. But, again once I know a little more form you, I might be able to provide some guidance.

      6. Well you are not totally correct. The customers could be the same customers who just keep coming back to get gift cards, local deals, etc.

Once I am clear above, I will provide some specific ideas for you.

Troy, thanks for your reply. To answer your first question, yes, nobody is going to Zeekler, requesting free bids, or contacting me personally as a result of my advertising.

As for your other questions, I am using only the ad copy found in the ZR back office, as that is the only ad copy officially sanctioned by ZR as being fully compliant. I post a random mixture of free bid giveaway ads and premium subscription ads to six of the venues listed in the ZR back office. All six of these venues offer free, unlimited posting, but they do not allow embedding HTML code, so I can't use the one banner ad found in the ZR back office.

As for paid advertising, money is really tight for me at this time, so I have to stick with free advertising.

I will gladly accept any specific suggestions regarding ad copy and venues. Is it true, though, that before we can use ad copy of our own creations, it must be approved by ZR Compliance?

Troy, I contacted you privately through your contact form and regular e-mail. No reply from you yet. Did you receive my private correspondences?

        Thanks.

        • Troy Dooly

          @Denns,

Yes, I did receive your email. But with the potential of a Hurricane coming in this week, I took the weekend to get prepared. Plus, I had another situation that took many hours. Hang in there info is coming :)

          • Dennis London

Thanks, Troy. I was not aware that you live in a hurricane-prone area. Must be the southeastern US? Take care of your family and home first. I will patiently await your info.

          • Troy Dooly

            @Dennis,

We live on a barrier island in the panhandle of Florida. There is two hurricanes moving right now. One is going to come into the Golf. Over the weekend, based on the weather patterns, there was one model which did show it could gain strength to a Cat. 5 and hit us head on. So we took time to be prepared for it or any others this year.

Right now I think it has weakened and is going to disappear.

So I should be getting caught up tomorrow.

            Living An Epic Adventure,
            Troy

Still waiting to hear from you, Troy. I hope you haven't forgotten. I am anxious to get your advice regarding ad copy and venues that hopefully will result in my acquiring paying customers and affiliates after Zeek's August 22nd announcement.

            Thanks.

    Thank you Troy,

As a new member of Zeek's ind. rep. affiliate team but 30 years in MLM I'm thankful to see someone in our midst that speaks the truth, the facts, and remains calm without pressing the panic button. I hear so many team members who has been here longer than I who lacks the team spirit due RVG and Zeek.

"Bumps in the road" are and should be expected, but grow a little thicker skin, put a giant smile on our faces, and let enjoy what Paul and others have worked hard to create. I believe this is one for the history books.

Team spirit, working hard to do our part without over whelming corporate with phone calls and cries of worry will create a much more productive future for everyone. Leaders have a responsibility to each of our team members, keep communication flowing, support the entire organization, and weed out those who cause problems. This is at each level of the business.

Your hard work makes our job a lot easier Troy, thank you for reporting good information as we need it!
