MLM Help Desk issues a Scam Alert on “Narc That Car” aka Narc Technologies aka National Automobile Recovery Company. Now let me say right up front, the underlying company Narc Technologies or National Automobile Recovery Company, hard to tell if they are separate or the same. Either way, the company seems to be legit. It’s the fact they are using an MLM compensation structure which causes the main issue. However there are a few other issues I’ll cover.
Narc Update… New, news article and video from NBC News in Dallas… Glad to see we were not the only ones trying to get answers from the company.
You can review the Narc Compensation document here.
Here is a video which explains what Narc Technologies provides.
The FTC and in this case the Texas laws all require that the distributors of Network Marketing companies offer a product or service to an end user. Although, it is clear the reps “can” find clients, most are not going to know how to find those types of companies.
It is also clear the real money in this compensation plan, is not to find clients, it is to recruit others who pay the $100.00 start up fee and the $24.95 monthly website fee.
Although each active rep must supple 10 license plate numbers per month to be active in the compensation plan, the money comes from the start up fees and the monthly website fees.
Here are the questions which need answers.
1. Although writing down license numbers may be legal, trespassing isn’t. What happens if a Narc That Car rep is charged with trespassing on private property, like a shopping center parking lot, gated community, grocery store parking lot, etc?
2. What happens if a Narc rep is charged with stalking?
3. How would you feel if, because of a Narc That Car rep, your wife and daughter were left stranded without a vehicle and they were raped, kidnapped, or murdered?
4. How would you feel if this happened to you.
I find it interesting that just a few years ago, there was a huge outrage to the fact the government was wiretapping peoples cell phones to protect us against terrorism, yet here is a company using other American’s to gather information which can be used against other Americans.
Now, I expect Narc Technology reps to rally and say “If these people can’t pay their car payments, then they deserve what happens”, but what happened to American’s helping one another, instead of earning a buck off of someone else’s bad luck?
